The first time you hear one of norms jokes, it’s like watching a drunk guy stumble a tightrope, barely hanging on, then landing a perfect finish out of nowhere. The second time you hear the joke, you realize the guy was sober the whole time, and the joke was that you thought he was drunk.

Norm was the best at turning an interview into a train wreck you just can't look away from. Legendary.
  • Adam said something profound after Norm passed. "He wasn't as famous as we wanted him to be"

Perks of being alive according to Norm. -Eat at Denny’s -Wear a hat (sometimes)
  • Norm always looks like he’s laughing at some secret joke beyond the one that he is telling.
  • @alexespino7248
“He was from my cousins side of the family” such a subtle joke but so fucking good

I loved how Norm could spin that endless, seamless yarn and lure you onto a path to both a completely bizarre and ridiculously funny journey. Miss that guy
  • On Norms birthday every single year, we should all go to Denny’s and wear a hat.

Not religious but I hope this dude’s in heaven puttin on a show. Miss him already.
  • I wonder if most people realize that Norm was/is smarter than 99% of the population. An actual genius. Every word, every pause, by design. The only redeeming quality of the internet is that we can celebrate him anytime.

What made Norm special is that the glint in his eyes and his childish yet devilish grin was for his amusement and his ALONE! Norm could careless if the joke was not found to be funny by the people, he simply told these long drawn out stories for his inner child self. His goal was to make himself smile and that's what separated him from other comics. Norm was a Top 10 comedian in my view. Such a transcendent comic, and yet was a courageous man in the face of his illness. 😢 RIP Norm, you made and left your mark! Deeply missed 😢

"they grow up so slow, it's barely discernible" I really love this joke

Conan: "I should be all tucked in bed listening to you" crowd laughs a single tear falling from my eye as i am tucked into bed listening to my favorite comedian tell a story Rest in peace Norm. love you forever.
  • The beginning part with Carson gives me chills...he had already been fighting cancer for YEARS, and he was just trying to convey the message "Be happy and know how lucky you are that you even exist - enjoy life." He was fought so hard to live for like 10 years battling cancer...the dude is and always will be a comedy legend! Enjoy life!!!
  • There is nothing like listening to Conan talk about Norm's comedic choices. He spoke so lovingly, and admirably about Norm, that was was way before Norm even passed. I love when Conan refers to Norms jokes as "Farmer's Wives" jokes or "Traveling Salesman" jokes 😂😂😂 And he explains that he doesn't laugh at the joke, but instead he laughs at the audacity of Norm to attempt that joke to an audience. Conan said that it was like watching Norm split an atom lmao Imagine having that much love from one of your colleagues or contemporaries ❤️❤️❤️
  • "It's great gig being alive. You can eat at Denny's...wear a hat, whatever you want." ~Norm MacDonald
  • For anyone curious, "coaly" is a real word. Norm's vocabulary is incredible. Definition of coaly (Entry 1 of 2) \ ˈkōlē, -li \ : covered or impregnated with coal : containing or resembling coal
  • i can listen to the Kitchner Lesley joke a hundred times over and still laugh! His delivery was picture perfect.
  • @FranssensM
The pleasure Norm extracts from teasing an audience, pulling them through the story to get to his punchline 😂
