Yes, liked & subbed last night. Yes, I'm ( 0:15 ) in Houston, Texas. The content that you are producing is helpful to all Americans. Very helpful, makes us understand this Big Purchase.

Thank you. I appreciate you sharing your expertise. It's helpful. God bless you.

My Trane is 16 years old and loves to eat capacitors. I've replaced 3 run caps and 4 hard start caps in the past 2 years.

I’m with you brother I’m on American standard Dealer and York. If you’ve been doing this a long time you remember when you used to get a Goodman unit and you get three different stickers to stick whatever sticker you want on it
  • I had a Trane 1985 new, it was great, no problems. Now I have a Trane 2021 which is made from parts all over the world, it was a huge mistake. I agree, I have tried to call Trane and GOOD luck with that dream. You are exactly correct about the installer and his company. I should have done research.

Really appreciate the context from your experience. Helps a lot. Gratefully. We have a 5 ton R-22 Ameristar with Gas Furnace that we are looking to swap out with a 4/5 Ton FIT or VRV from a ComfortPlus installer.

I’m in North Carolina and I have a 3.5 ton American Standard split unit with a zone board and it works perfectly in the summer. But SUCKS in the winter time. We usually don’t get that cold here but every few years we do get in the teens and that unit can not keep up. The unit breaks ever winter, and funny thing is it’s still has a warranty. But so tired of repairing it every year So I decided to go with a 4 ton ICP Split until and it’s amazing. Works perfect and since then we have yet to have a problem, (crossing my fingers).
  • I owned an American Standard 16 SEER 4 ton Heat Pump system; outdoor unit lasted 19 yrs. Indoor unit right now is about 26 y/o and still working; planning to get a replacement soon.

Hey Josh, the Ameristar units do now have a spine fin coil, and are made here in Texas at the Tyler plant. I agree with most of your comments, however, with so many manufacturers having coil leak issues I would suggest to you, now more than ever, that it’s important to go with a manufacturing company that has experience working with all aluminum products. The only manufacturers that have experience, to my knowledge, is the American Standard/Trane family. As you know they have ALWAYS had the spine fin coil in condensers. Everyone else has a learning curve to go through. There is a reason they have always been rated as best with fewest repairs. Now with so many people putting different names on low end units, you should go with something you know you can trust! Especially with the prices being what they are! We have seen Lennox loose a class action over Freon leaks, and many others are going through the same problems! As much as they cost, just buy a American Standard or Trane that will last 15-29 years.

Enjoy the information your videos provide. At 2: 24 in the video did I understand correctly that the hood top is now an option on the American Standard models?
  • @robertlevitt448
I got quotes for Trane and American Standard recently, same equipment and setup. Different contractors. Trane was slightly more expensive but I liked the Trane Contractor more and that is the direction I’m going.
  • Hello thank you for your information I have a question. Do a contract know in advance what year a model was manufactured before he purchases it? I am in Texas I ask mine would the unit be a 2022 or 2023 he said not a 2023 because it only January 5, 2023. It it normal to by a previous year model?
  • @stevewise1656
I'm out on the west coast and appreciate your insights. Thanks! This video is perfect, because I was going to replace my 18 year old Trane with another Trane, though the suppliers don't have stock due to the supply chain issues. The company I use for service only carries American Standard, so maybe I'll go with American Standard.
  • @qteezy6501
Thank s for this video! I’m really looking into daikan because of you. My utility bill is getting crazy and I think if I replaced my 10 seer American standard with the Fit heat pump model it will help
  • @tonyfulton7802
Should an ac installer use a trane heat pump and an American standard air handler?
  • @nostradamus7648
What's the difference between the Trane XR16 heat pump and the XL16i heat pump? I'm needing to replace my 17 yr old Trane XR13 3 ton that recently died. I'm planning on doing a 4 ton for a 2000 sq ft single story in San Antonio where heat consistently goes over 100 for weeks in mid summer. I usually set daytime AC at 72 and 70 at night. We have ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room.

Quick question, what are your thoughts on the older Ameristar 14 Seer 2.5 Ton Heat pump units? Thank you for all you do! 🙏🏿
