UPDATE 8/2/24:
This is the last recording of a public Aerosmith Performance. “Walk this Way” was the final song played during Aerosmith’s Farewell Tour 9/9/23 UBS Arena (Elmont, NY). Followed by Joe Perry birthday tribute.

From Aerosmith’s announcement on 8/2/24: “We’ve always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from the touring stage.“

UPDATE 9/13/23:

Steven Tyler announced on Monday that he is heartbroken to announce the need to postpone the six subsequent concerts following vocal chord damage he sustained during this concert.

One thing apparent from the show is that Steven Styler and Joe Perry put on an incredible performance. The energy that emanated from them was unbelievable. You can see it in this video. Look at the close up sequence around minute 1:07 and you can see how much energy Steven Tyler evoked. It was a pleasure to watch this performance and it is incredibly sad that he injured himself as a result.

  • I was there and feel very honored to have been a big part of something so monumental in pop rock/hair band history.
  • They went out kicking it. I'll miss Steve Tyler, Joe Perry, and the band. All the best for this great band.

I was there. Part of me feel honoured to be a part of Aerosmith’s last run (first Aerosmith concert, flew 15 hours to see them). But also I just feel really bad for the band. Must suck being forced to retire.
  • Aerosmith, one of the all time greatest rock & roll bands. They lasted longer than even they themselves would have dreamed, hoped and believed. Welcome back for a comeback, if you can. If you can`t, huge thanks!
  • @reprintranch
...and so it ends. I never would have guessed that the last song Aerosmith would perform on tour would be "Happy Birthday."
  • Saw them sing this in concert in SF at the Cow palace 1976 !!
  • Saw them twice,,,, not a single waisted penny. Outstanding shows both times. Enjoy retirement boys, y'all earned it!
  • You can tell his voice is hurt. He's practically talking instead of singing. One of the greatest to ever do it. Thank you for giving us so much.

Man it's so messed up that he got this injury because he sounded great the whole time. His voice never really deteriorated as far as the quality of the singing.
  • They will always be Rock-N-Roll KINGS! They helped changed rock music forever.

I’m so happy that I was there that night. We had great seats but not this great & you did a great job videoing. Didn’t realize that this was going to be their last concert I’d see live. We’ve been going to see them since the 1970s and they never disappoint. Thanks JP.

I saw Aerosmith in Austin back in 87. Dokken opened. Remember it like it was yesterday.

  • I've seen Aerosmith more than any other band. They sound as great here as they did in the 70s.
