Russian President Vladimir Putin visited North Korean leader Kim Jong Un this week, firming up their alliance and the country's support for the ongoing war in Ukraine. The meeting came as the U.S. and Ukraine signed their own defense pact and worked on securing more military assets for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, G-7 countries agreed on a plan to convert $280 billion in frozen Russian assets currently held in Europe into a loan to Ukraine so it can buy weapons and repair significant damage. And a recent investigation by the Financial Times reveals new details about Ukrainian children taken by Russian authorities in the early days of the war.

In this episode of PBS News Weekly, Nick Schifrin offers a look at the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine war.
