How to make a Multi-Color Vinyl Sticker:    • How To Make Multi Color Vinyl Decal S...

In this video I walk through the process of taking a drawing and turning it into a vinyl decal sticker. Decals are some of my favorite stickers because they have a very bold look and they are super durable even on outdoor surfaces. To make your own, first come up with a design you like. Keep the image to a single color before you get a hand on the rest of the process.

Then converting the image to black and white you can set up the edges that need to be cut by the plotter. Load up some vinyl or sticker material on the plotter and then send it the cut file from Silhouette Studio.

Once cut the large negative areas of stickers can be pulled right off. This will leave the remaining design area as the sticker. Any section that is surrounded by the design will need to be "weeded". An exacto or weeding tool can be used to pick these areas out.

Then covering the stickers in transfer tape will let you stick them to any surface. Once applied to a surface the transfer tape can be removed to leave just the sticker.

Hope you enjoyed!

Thank you so much for this video.i bought a silhouette cameo 2 years ago and never got the hang of it because there was no good videos on YouTube. They all showed how to make other things but the reason I bought it was to make these types of stickers. I was going to sell my cameo because I wasn’t motivated lol but u change that’s for me man. 🙏. Will save this for later. I’m an og sub from way back. Keep it up!

shit, I've been making decals with my Cameo, but, I've just been going through the thousands of fonts* logo creator programs to do so. Never thought of drawing from scratch! Great vid!

I know this is an old video and this isn't the focus of the video...but it's 100% possible to reproduce the artwork on the computer. However, you should use Illustrator (or other vector software). If you haven't already, learn to use the pen tool to its full potential . It is invaluable and I use it everyday to make quick work of precise masking and logo reproduction/etc. Another thing to consider: I can digitize unique type when it isn't made with guides and not have problems with the flow of the line. But that's only because of how many times I do it every week. It is exponentially easier for anyone to do, if you first make sure your original sketch was done using guides. This holds true even if you use only the sharpie artwork.

Thank this is the best learning video I’ve seen for a beginner. But I want to use the vinyl stickers for painting then the vinyl can be removed
  • @TheLittlemau5
u can use a hair blower or heat gun (low heat setting) to warm the vinyl plastic and make it stick and adjust to the surface properly if there is any bump
  • This is amazing lol. I didn’t know you could actually use photoshop to fix your lines and make it more defined.
  • Digging the longer video! I like seeing the process and taking tips
