This guy was walking along the beach when he spotted a baby mud shark stranded in a tide pool. Since mud sharks are also known as dogfish, he nicknamed the little guy "Doggy" and helped get him back to ocean, making sure to stop for plenty of water breaks along the way.

This was just the sweetest thing. I loved when he said “Go, be free. I know we’re mates but go. I know you like these scratches.”
  • @schafer7403
Just before the shark left he poked his head up to say thank you.

“Good doggy,” said the man to the shark.

This is the equivalent of a fishing boat being lost at sea, and then Cthulhu emerging from the ocean and escorting it safely back to shore

I like how he calls him a doggy. Smart guy for giving water breaks because sharks really don't last long without water.
  • @planetankman
I love how kind he is he’s like “want a water break, ok”

Alternative title: shark tries to live his little mermaid fantasy, but is stopped by human

It's awesome how rescued animals always seem to know they've been rescued and stay around a bit longer to sort of say thank you. Life loves to live, and life loves those who help them live. Nature is beautiful and so are these heroes who rescue animals.

While we watch this video, THE FACT THAT this baby shark might be somewhere in the big ocean right now telling this tale to it's friends, family and children. The story lives on!
  • This shark's emotions must have changed a lot and many times that day.
  • I wanna believe that was the shark saying "thank you!" Before swimming away

never saw a doggy look like this, but great to know the doggy survive, what a great man
  • @LBFescape
I love how it stayed a little longer to get some pets from him and give him a thank you, it's like they bonded over that little but lifesaving moment

That shark just experienced flying in his life
  • Imagine if the shark remembers him and when he's fully grown, he'll pull up out of nowhere expecting "Good doggy"
