Yet, as Arthur C Clarke recognises from personal experience of his childhood home in England, places that are said to be haunted - houses, factories, battlefields - never fail to fascinate, to stimulate theories or to demand investigation. The programme visits the most puzzling, the most terrifying the world has to offer, analysing eyewitness testimony and joining the real-life Ghostbusters in their quest for the evanescent truth. Here are some choice gleanings from the vast harvest of haunting

  • The woman ( spirit/ ghost ) in Kent is 100% true and absolutely terrifying . I'm a 74yr old grandma and can never forget this happening to me on the same road .. exactly the way both men described . Driving alone , no mobile phones in those days and hitting a woman who ran in front of my car . Just thinking about it is making me cry as I was hysterical and ran into a pub to get Police... nothing.. no one found . The Policeman drove my car to the car park and I stayed overnight , I will never..ever drive that way again.

I love it when fully grown men explain being spooked by ghosts it proves time and time again it's very much real
  • It's so nice to see a production from the 1990's before all the fast camera movements, repetitive shots and intrusive background music meant to add drama. This was interesting and fleshed out (excuse the term) in a way that most shows about the paranormal are not produced today.

Arthur C Clarke....i used to love watching his shows on TV . This takes me back 😁👍
  • I love these older ghost documentaries! It’s so hard to find any I haven’t seen yet 😆 thank you for the upload! I hope you’ll post some more... 😊

I love having Arthur C. Clarke hosting shows like this.

I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, and never knew about the ghost encounter in our state’s Capitol. Don’t blame the building’s resotorer for being terrified!😱

I always Pooh-Poohed anyone's fear of ghosts. Most ghost stories do not include any ability on the part of the ghost to hurt you....you see a shadow, you hear chains rattling, a light goes out, etc. However (!) one night I saw "something" at the end of a country lane while walking my (big) dog. The dog stopped dead in her tracks, growling and whining. Being a true skeptic, I refused to be frightened by something [that surely must be] imaginary. Why had my brain turned whatever normal thing this actually must have been into a supernatural entity ? I was determined to find out what it really was. The dog refused to move forward at all. Whatever the "thing" was (it appeared to be a strangely formed 15 foot tall human male). Couldn't possibly be, right? Suddenly, it started walking toward me, taking long, swift strides. All righty then...I decided to get outta there. As I turned to rush home, the dog raced off and left me. When I got home (Olympic athletes WISH they could sprint so fast !!), I locked every door in the house and stayed away from any windows. To this day, I can still SEE that thing, but have no idea what I was looking at.

Did the homeowner explain to the ghosts that she was leaving and selling the house? (I know it sounds crazy), but the ghosts would have had the time to think about their future. Should they stay or pack their bags and find new digs. You cannot make the ghosts homeless.
  • That is amazing! While performing his photographic experiment, that man caught a picture of a ghost on film! It may have been one of his ancestors, because it looks somewhat like him. Just amazing! :)
  • We were hunted when my grandauther was born. You couldn't see it until we took pictures. They went away after she grew to a certain age.
  • @MsNursenice
He barely begins talking about the place being haunted when at 1:03-1:04 a shadow passed by over his shoulder in front of the window. Ghost? Or someone not paying attention to the fact they were filming?
  • Why, in kindness, don’t you “Send them to the Light” !🕊
  • I was waiting the WHOLE TIME for the host to drink his orange juice, but he never did!

History's most haunted places on Earth? So much for the Tower of London.
  • Scary Experience. Germany. Gelnhausen, Coleman Kaserne. New to Germany 🇩🇪 in 1983. Pulling Staff Duty for 2/48 Infantry ( MECHANIZED). Three of us in the Personnel office. The staff duty Officer, Me the Staff Duty NCO, and a PFC which was our Jeep driver and runner. I was asst Platoon SGT for the Medical Platoon. Our Aid Station was in the same Building. I heard a door close and I said to the officer “Did you hear that? Yes he said. It’s just the resident ghost. I said “ No disrespect sir but that’s bs. So I go and check all doors, all locked except the Aid Station door. I personally had locked that door. So I pull it shut and lock it again. So about a hour later the same noise. The LT said “see”. No one but us in the building. So I go and personally check each door, ensuring they were locked. Again the aid station door was open and unlocked. So I locked it again. I actually logged these incidents in the BN Staff Officer report. So I actually started walking up and down the hallways to make sure this wasn’t some hazing thing either by the Staff Duty Officer, or my own Platoon. Sure enough it happened again. Not actually seeing a ghost, I still am skeptical of ghosts. SFC LAWRENCE MAY, RET

  • When buying a home, I always ask what was there before the house was built...did someone died inside the house...and if the house is haunted.
  • @megs4193
