  • I am here to tell you that your 32 minute video is one of the rare few videos I have watched from beginning to end, without feeling like I'm wasting my precious and valuable time. Every minute I spent watching this video was time well spent because the content and information you provided was both invaluable, and well researched, and you presented it in a no nonsense, straightforward way that dived into the nuts and bolts of the topic, while keeping it relevant AND concise. Yes - the video was 32 minutes long, but you provided so much valuable information for people wanting to compare and research the different models and brands you presented that watching it was truly a workshop or seminar on portable power stations. AND NOT ONCE did you beg people to "like and subscribe" to your channel, or go on and on about other things not related to the topic of your video, and waste the viewers time by never getting to the point of the video. The added bonus of your spreadsheet is truly a remarkable and priceless gift. I want to thank you for one of THE MOST outstanding videos on all of YT. Kudos to you!

SPECIAL POINT FOR EVERYONE: Most of you probably already know this but, it's important I feel to mention it anyways: * There are very few items that you need to run consistently... so that means that you can run a couple of items, get the "job" done, then unplug them, and then run other items. That way the solar generator is NOT maxed out and you have time to recharge the battery over and over and over! An Example: * In Southern CA a couple of year ago, the electric went off and it stayed off for THREE DAYS! * We have the usual refrigerator AND a very old upright freezer that takes a lot of power. * We immediately put ice bottles (that we make all the time in the smaller freezer) into the frig to keep things cold for as long as possible and we tried our hardest not to open it, which worked very well... we kept things pretty cold for three days and still were able to eat food from the frig... meaning that it was very cold and safe to eat. * As for the old upright freezer, it stayed cold (aka frozen) FOR THREE DAYS also because we never opened it... everything stayed frozen!! * If we had owned a Solar Generator back then (we're buying one ASAP), we could have plugged JUST THE FREEZER into the solar generator, let it run a couple hours to keep everything frozen.. AND THEN UNPLUGGED IT AGAIN... and then charged our refrigerator and done the same thing, just run it for a couple hours and then unplug it so we could use the generator for other important things.. like emergency radio, using the pressure cooker to cook etc etc. My Point Is This: In an emergency situation, you don't need to be running anything full-time, unless it's a critical medical device... or an emergency radio (which should be run on batteries anyways). You'll have plenty of time to run the items you need to survive... AND plenty of time to recharge your solar generator. Be Safe Fellow Citizens... Work Together And We'll Get Through Anything! Wow! I learned more in this 30 min video than i have in months of trying to wrap my head around this important topic. A heartfelt thank you for all the effort you put into this channel!
  • I cannot thank you enough for this. I live in SW FL and this is the first opportunity I have had to look at a solar generator. To have such detailed info is such a blessing!!
  • Kris as a retired electrician i really appreciate the amount of effort you put into this especially the actual running watts and startup watts part most people will miss the mark on both of these areas. If you are not a scientist you missed your calling, great job, i really enjoy your no nonsense, no clickbait, non fear based analysis. It should move people to deliberate calculated action. If it doesnt their blood is on their own heads. Again great job.
  • @shubarose44
My husband did all the research last fall and we purchased the same Bluetti you reccomend. It is so simple and effective. We love it.
  • @Yaelia
I am new and starting to prep. This gave me so much information and I didn’t get bored. THANK YOU for the time and effort. Is super comprehensive.
  • @tobiasj.4199
I believe this may be the most comprehensive, understandable, and thorough video I have seen for any kind of product. My knowledge on these products is infinitely better than it was before and now I have a fantastic starting point for further research. Thank you for your hard work in putting this together
  • @samhughes3327
Thanks for all you do for the community man. Your videos have really helped me and made me better educated on how to take care of my family if anything ever happens. It would be a blessing to have something like this as well.
  • Way to go, Chris! Your work ethic is impressive and you have created something of significant value here. Kudos!
  • @scolaroant
The document comes in handy! Looking to start living from my Subaru Outback and have been heavily researching options for outfitting the car so I can work remotely while road tripping. A reliable power station is the highest priority so this video and spreadsheet helped save me a lot of time!
  • @2imsofunny
I have been considering/investigating portable solar generators for over a month now. I have watch several YT videos including your other reviews, this video is terrific and most helpful. I enjoy your insights into personal preparation. Your videos are always on my must watch list. Thank you for the Ultimate Guide. Very Helpful.
  • Kris you've outdone yourself!! Based mainly on one of your previous powerbank videos I went with a Jackery 1000 and EF ECOFLOW 160W Portable Solar Panel (with adapter cables) as a "starter" setup. I plan to get one of the more powerful setups (something like the Bluetti AC200Max or Ecoflow Delta Max) to run our home in the event of an extended power outage.
  • SUPER DUPER! Thank you for the time and effort taken to make this video. I appreciate the attention to detail and clear explanation of operation and design. The spreadsheet is an excellent tool in determining what I personally need. You definitely helped make my life easier!
  • Thank you so much for all the research you have done and the amount of content provided. I started off thinking I needed/wanted a whole home generator, but quickly became disillusioned by the ridiculously high cost ($13-$18K) , Loooooong lead times, noise and natural gas cost to operate. (My HOA does not allow permanent solar panels, but does not currently restrict back up generators or temporary solar panels) With the help of you and others, I've concluded that my money will be MUCH better spent on multiple strategically selected inverters w/ solar charging for outages that exceed the life of charged up units. I downloaded your spreadsheet and plan to use it exclusively to narrow down my final selection. Granted, this option will require much more planning (like having to pull out fridge to get to "hidden" plug and other physical cut overs w/ multiple extension cords! However, with your and others help I am convinced I'm up to the task. Please keep up the good work!
  • Just downloaded, this is a huge help. I was trying to make a list of all the videos I could find with these. Now I just need to get one. Thanks for the endless hours you put into this for everyone to see!
