  • I appreciate being able to watch how quickly the person applying caulking moves along. It's harder than it looks to get that nice smooth finish. I was adding too much because I wasn't moving along fast enough. Practice....
  • I really want to do this. But unfortunately the builder already insulated the basement. So I can rip out the plastic at the bottom but that’s a real headache because I will have to staple it back. Do you see any harm in sealing the bottom framing to the floor even with the plastic over top of the wood. I don’t think that framing will ever move or be ripped out since it’s 24in OC and just really providing framing/insulation from the outer brick to the inside. It’s unfinished so additional framing would be needed.

    What type of caulk or sealant do you recommend to seal cracks between framing studs and seams between floor and bottom plate (ie can you recommend a brand)? Same question for spray foam...will any spray foam do or is one better than the other? Thanks!
