I'm watching this on a 36XBR200 CRT right now. You can have the future, I'm living in the past.

They don't have to be pricey if you know where to look. If you live in a bigger city, chances are, you can find them fairly cheap on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. Most people, who aren't gamers, can't wait to get rid of these things and will practically give them away.
  • I remember my very first console was the PS2 on a CRT. I can understand why a lot of people would still prefer these for retro gaming but I have a 240Hz 1440p monitor now and upscaling my beloved PS2 games to 5K from native resolution is really nice XD

Regretted giving away my last CRT TV to my church, retro games and old dvds dont look very good on modern TVs to me.

You don't want to do any 240p gaming on a HD CRT. It looks wack-no scanlines. Also the input lag is horrendous. Bonus points for the Last resort footage. CRT- critical race theory.

Couldn't disagree more about your statement that modern displays looks better than a Sony HD CRT, not even 4K OLED can touch the Sony Super Fine Pitch HD CRTs, or the Panasonic SR Acuity HD CRTS for that matter, the only displays to get close are the Pioneer and Panasonic late gen plasma TV sets. But then on another level above all those are the BVM and VGA monitors, nothing can get close to the IQ and performance they put out, PS5 on a top-tier CRT monitor is incredible looking, if RGB OLED with native rolling scan and at least 360Hz refresh rates are ever available, perhaps they will look as good or at least come close to CRT, but that's at least a good few years off yet imo.
  • My 1980s rf only crt has better image quality than 8k. No lie. High rez is a hoax
