Your stock charger is bad, so getting a larger turbo is the only option, right? Hold tight. There are quite a few things to talk about here. Spool, horsepower goals, everyday drive-ability, etc.

Nick, head honcho at Duramaxtuner.com, walks you through what to consider when making your stock replacement turbo purchase on your 5.9L Cummins.

Is the silencer ring still utilized on the stealth 64? I've narrowed my choices down to the stealth 64 and the pdd 362 sxe .7 or .8 A/R for an 05 nv5600 srw and Calibrated power MM3 tuning. I don't have experience with either one on a 3rd gen. Only with a PDD 362 sxe .7 on an 01' auto. Love the podcast! I'm looking to buy a turbo and tuning before the end of the year. Thank you.

To me the best turbo is a 64 MM for a stock truck and it has enough room to add a few parts to get a good horse power bump . I just would like to have 400 hp and that’s not much with it being a HO 325 from factory and it’s not enough to shorten the life of your motor and it’s still good 500 K . I think what do you think ?

If I replace my turbo and Iam not looking for big power . All I want is a nice turbo 64mm would be all I need and only up grade I have is a Fleece in tank lift pump and I bought this dullay new so I know it hasn’t been beat on. If ATS made a stand a lone variable geometry with a controller would be great only if they can make it hold up to keep soot off the moving vanes and not lock up the vanes I would be on that big time because I need the braking so let me know if you have some way to keep this from happening. My truck has 152K on the clock and I have factory size tires and we were getting ready to haul our Bigfoot truck to Alaska pulling a 20’ out board jet with a 200 hp behind it. I bought a 36” truss hitch so I could pull y boat. So to get ready for this 3 month trip to Alaska Canada and the Artic ocean so even though I didn’t need brakes still had over half the brake pads and I did my front end too and all ball joints and new neoprene track bar bushings and hub bearing and u-joints and did the rears too brakes and new hardware for parking brakes and shoes to. And a Big Wig rear sway bars and 5100 Bisteins schools and on board air and tank and a air Chuck and curly hose with gauge on the Handel to air up tires and 7000 lb air bags and a dc to dc charger to charge my 2- 100 amp hour lithium batteries so we have got of spare parts for repairs on the road and I wanted a 2005 camper to match my 2005 long bed dullay 4 door 6 speed manual and manual 4x4 selector. So in a few months we will be on our way on our dream trip of our lives and everybody told us no your truck is too old but a stay up on all of my service and this has been a trouble free truck never had any problems and I forgot to say I have 3 fuel filters and first one is a big 5 micron water separator then a big 2 micron cat filter and the stock filter is a 5 micron carriage Balwin and this filter set up on this truck 6 months after I bought it and the stock filters will be good to 300k with this filtration system . So what do you think Wade am I missing something let me know what you think.
