Compost Toilet Part 3:    • LIVING OFF-GRID | Self-sufficient 14 ...

Ever since moving to the top of this mountain, our toilet experience has been primitive and, at times, traumatic.

We spent the first year on our homestead going to the toilet in the bushes, with a shovel and a knife, fighting for our place amongst the grunting wild boar.

The second year on our homestead, Emilia made some improvements. A make shift compost toilet built from pallets, scrap wood and a thoroughly cleaned out bucket of paint.

However, we're tired of battling the elements and Robbie has had enough bucket emptying to last him a life time. I’ve told Robbie we will be using a compost toilet for the rest of our lives, so we must build it to last FOREVER! Two years of thought has gone into this design, and probably 1,000 YouTube videos…. We are so excited to see the result!

  • Thanks so so much for all the love and support, say hi in the comments ❤️
  • Robbie, not sure if you're the luckiest or the craziest guy on the side of a mountain but your future won't be dull.
  • Little Sage demonstrates exceptional intelligence and a remarkable aptitude for learning. At this moment, he could very well be the happiest little boy in the world.

I sometimes wonder when Robbie starts a project, I think where on earth is he going with this and watching Emilia’s facial expressions I’m thinking she’s thinking the same as I am. But it all comes wonderfully together in the end. Sage is so adorable to watch as he’s learning so much with every episode.

What a wonderful place for little Sage to grow up. You guys are both inspiring and amazing.🙏😊
  • ... And as for Grandma Tessa... That special delivery made me laugh so much - you brightened up my day with your incredible post! xxx
  • @Neilhuny
Great rock laying skills on and around the steps, and especially around your IBC reed beds! It all looks great. Saint Tessa is a magnificent woman - what a job she did bringing everything up in her car AND with a bucket full of fish on her lap! Heroic Sage's help with the pipe feed though was ... fun to watch! Perhaps he will be of more practical help in the future but he won't be more wonderful and entertaining than he is now. That little section will be something to show the first girlfriend he brings home to meet the parents in many years time ...
  • Magnificent Saint Tessa - recognition at last! 😂 I'm liking the fame 😆🥳
  • @LarryLawfer
You are such great parents, I love watching sage be such a help with everything you do. The team work, the planning, the arguing about what is best and the getting it done. Brilliant.
  • Thanks to that little glimpse of Ibiza, I have worked out exactly where you are now! Keep the great videos coming!
  • The videos are getting better every time, so amazing to see you build this thing!
