  • You can tell he’s a guitarist because he moves onto the next song before he is good at the last just like me
  • @latiremo9133
oh no he’s a madman he actually plugs in his guitar when he practices

I spent the last 6 months teaching myself music theory on the guitar. I can't play many songs but I can come up with things on my own pretty easily. Honestly theory is one of the most important things you can learn

I think everyone starts out thinking it will be easier to learn to play than it really is. I also think that most people start out thinking they are worse than they really are. This video is awesome because it shows us the real truth about the process of learning to play and that almost everyone starts out struggling and sounding bad, but those who endure and keep practicing anyway, eventually will learn to play well. Thanks for sharing!

I started guitar in April 2020 (youtube lessons only) and it's really inspiring to watch someone else's guitar journey! I played a lot of the same songs lol. Nirvana for the win!

I love watching these guitar progress videos because you can always see when they begin to make guitar faces lmao. it's not just an instrument, it's a life-style
  • @sambo5029
I'm amazed not only by the guitar but all the hair transformations

It looks like you chose to spend the year learning songs. That’s cool, and probably the first thing we all do. Now a pend a few months watching mostly technique, scales, and some music theory (Uncle Ben is great). I watched hours of videos on how to just hold the pick, and it made a huge difference. Also how to rest my hand on the bridge, palm and finger muting made a huge difference.

Seeing someone play smoke on the water as a beginner brings back a key memory
  • @UnknownShady
I have my guitar just sitting in my room but I never play it anymore because I just felt it would take too long but watching this is actually really inspiring

dawg you did so good for being self taught, i am teaching myself too lol. good luck on your journies man!

Lots of people pick up the guitar but quit early because they were focusing on getting results as soon as possible but you kept your focus on the process until you got to a point where you were satisfied. Props to you. I would love to see if you ever do covers.
  • Very realistic progress I personally just found myself a teacher and have been to about four lessons in the span of 3 months. I have been playing almost 5 years now. You sound really good for only a year of practice. It's been a year since you posted this, and I hope you kept it up!
  • Prime example of “once you go strat you never go back” love my strat. Keep up the good work man.

As a learner and a beginner, I can say that, that Weird face is a must after few months to learn something new😅😅
