The writing in these games is so underrated

This may go unnoticed but the music that starts playing at 0:55 when Cortana is revealed is the same soundtrack (Cortana) in Halo 3 when Chief rescues Cortana from High Charity. Beautifully done.

Hands down, the best cutscenea in this game. The gravity of the situation, Cortana's theme, Noble Team splitting up, the MUSIC that adds so much to the purpose of their mission, the mere mentioning of the Pillar of Autumn. It's the cutscene that truly lays the path for Halo CE.

I always liked how Emile doesn't even secure himself; he just sits right on the edge of the pelican like idgaf let's get this over with. God this ending cutscene still gets me emotional. THE best game in the entire series hands down. Definitely the best campaign.

"Make sure nothing falls into enemy hands." "I'll do what's neccesary sir." I only just realised what they meant by this. Emile's basically telling Jun to kill Halsey if she gets captured. Just shows how desperate their situation is.

Jun actually survived the game. He took off with Doctor Halsey and is seen in later books. In Halo: New Blood he recruits Buck into the Spartan-IV program and they mention Noble Six who is identified definitely as male. Jun's most recent appearance is in Halo: Bad Blood which takes place shortly after Halo 5. Buck gets the band (Alpha-Nine aka the team from ODST) back together for a classified ONI mission regarding the Insurrectionists. Jun by that point has retired and become Chief of Staff for the Spartan branch. He makes a brief cameo after Buck retakes the Spartan training station from a rogue AI and breaks Mickey out of prison. How Jun escaped Reach is unknown though. In Halo: First Strike, the survivors of Blue Team find Doctor Halsey at Castle Base but there is no sign or mention of Jun. Halsey and Blue Team are later rescued from Reach by the Master Chief following his theft of a Covenant flagship in Halo's ruins.

Halsey made the Spartans and Cortana Six got her to the Autumn and saved it from destruction Chief ended the war

The amazing story telling in this game is way beyond what people give it, with the song 0:54 being on used once and that being in Halo 3 when Chief rescues Cortana from the Flood making the story feel full circle. But the really amazing thing is that the player is Noble 6, Chief was a catalyst for the player but 6 is literally the player with their own customization actually appearing in the cutscenes. It’s so significant, because yes Chief was the one to actually save humanity, but it was all started with the player. To top it really off though is that since this was Bungie’s last Halo game, they made it sort of a thank you to the player by having the entire series only exist because of the player’s existence, both in game and in real life. I might be reading too much into it, but it seems very coincidental that this is the only Halo where you can customize the armor of the Stories Protagonist.

Everything about this scene gave you clues about what was going to happen to the rest of Noble Team. At that moment you knew this was a one way trip for the rest of Noble Team.

Halo is amazing.

The Bungie Halo games were something else. Then 343 happened and Spartans turned into power rangers and the rest is history.
