Renault trafic or similar vehicle indicator side repeater removal tips #renaulttrafic

Welcome to the AW Services YouTube channel

in this video, I battle the beautiful North Devon winter weather to show the ease of removing an indicator / blinker / turn signal side repeater lamp assembly.

the Haynes workshop manual states that using a screwdriver is the best method, and that was from earlier model vans as my 2016 plate Renault trafic business isn't currently covered in their manuals.

I opted for a less destructive method of using two store loyalty cards in which I'd sanded the square edges from the cards and tapered them to a knife like edge to help the cards slide in behind the lamp housing.

if you insert one card on the top centre of the lens and gently press it down and in, you'll notice it move freely and move your card over to the left or right. then, with a second card, follow the same steps.

DO NOT USE YOUR BANK CARDS, DRIVING LICENCE, OR DRIVER CARD

Once you've inserted your cards, you should be able to ease the lamp holder out.

tip: The retaining taps on the lamp holder are at 9 & 3 o'clock position

Top TIP:
tie a pie of string or wire to the bulb holder wiring loom so you'll not drop it within the inner wing / fender for my American viewers

Once you've removed the lamp holder, you can then replace a blown bulb or swap a broken lens holder

always a good idea to clean any green alge from where the lamp holder lens has sat and behind it.
