I have a Gibson CS '61 RI Les Paul (SG Standard). It's a blast to play, built immaculately and priced accordingly. If my house caught fire it would be one of the three guitars I'd grab in a hurry. However, this guy, the Epiphone SG Standard '61 Std. Maestro Vibrola parks right up next to mine. Very marginal differences. It looks great, plays great, sounds amazing and for all intents and purposes is a very worthy and ready stage instrument that I'd be happy to schwing. Top shelf for lower shelf cost. No complaints.

I got the other SG in first lockdown,(the batwing one). Ive set it up dropped down to C tuning and dude its an absolute beast! Ended up getting the 2020 Les Paul (that sweet worn cherry) Epiphones quality in 2020 was EPIC. Finally got a Dove acoustic this year. Thats so well made and sounding too.... The way I see it is Ive got 3 really good guitars for UNDER the price of a US Gibson SG or LP that may not even feel as good as my Epiphones...I play the hell out all of my guitars so would always feel nervous about dinging my expensive Gibson. If u are considering an Epiphone DO IT! you wont be dissapointed
