Awesome job and well earned!! Just hunted 2 days on public with ATV’s, bird watchers, and stray dogs in my decoy spreads. I think California public is as hard as it gets.

8:46 “finally…nowhere near public” that’s California hunting for ya 😂

Well done. It took me several years to get my first gobbler in California, and I grew up in the Shasta County area where you were in your video. It's definitely one of the tougher states to hunt turkeys on public land. You definitely were in the correct habitat type at the end of your hunt. I have wasted a ton of time, gas, energy and boot leather chasing the siren song of the mountain turkey in California.

"You can tell that by the way it is". That's so great. That goose on the cliff was nuts.
  • Hey man, awesome video! I applaud your dedication to get that bird! Were you using any sort of tool like onx maps to distinguish between public and private land? Your input is much appreciated!

Great Job man that was Dedication if I have ever seen it. Also did you Get this Turkey in the Tabelmountain/Friant Area you do not have to answer just wondering that place looks very Familier.

Im glad you got him. Reaping on public is crazy risky.

What area of land were you hunting in if you don't mind me asking? I am a junior and I live near Sacramento, and I am going to for turkeys this season for the first time and don't have a clue where a good area to hunt is.

Great hunt. What size shot did you use? I went out yesterday, stalked some birds because they weren't coming in. Got to within 30 yards or so of three. Shot at them twice, but either missed or the shot size was too small. I used shot size 6.

How bad was the pressure from other hunters while you were up there?
