Oliver says, 'My mother was the one that I had almost the most trauma about interestingly enough because she was my primary caregiver and I was with her all of the time. I felt unprotected at times.'

Trauma is about perception. He cannot choose his family, and his pain is still valid, rich and famous or not.

I love how he calls Kurt his dad or pa when he on tv during interviews! It just shows how much he loves him, and doesn’t care that he wasn’t his biological father.

Oh, give me strength... He paid to go to a course designed to ferret out out any forgotten or imagined grievances from childhood - And, surprise, they found some! He had a loving caregiving mother who was with him all the time. Wanted for nothing growing up.... How many middle-aged men WISH for that as a problem!!
  • We either do exactly what our parents did or we turn into better parents in spite of what we went through. My childhood wasn't that great. Between work, new boyfriends and her drug and major alcohol addiction there wasn't much left for me but I was never without. Now that I'm a mom I am very present, very loving but still strict I make sure I'm there for every holiday like my mom wasn't. Teaching him life lesson and showing him compassion and love are the best ways to raise your children ❤❤❤

Divorce hurts kids. Absent parents hurts kids. These are facts.
  • Soo glad he is working on his healing. It will help him soo much in all of his relationships.

Dude should be grateful that he never had to worry about where the next meal would be coming from. Not to invalidate his feelings but he needs to get some perspective outside his own and try to have more empathy for what others have to go through.
  • Being a single mom with two little kids to support is very difficult , being an actress and a single mom is 10 times more difficult ,but like all good moms ,Goldie Hawn did her best under her circumstances ,showbussines is a crazy world !

I learned it’s the ones you actually care about and love that can hurt you the most. It takes a lot to figure that out if there’s someone who is more of a monster. It’s like you can’t compute that others have hurt you when a really bad one you hate is obviously so much more horrifying. But if you truly hate them they can’t hurt you like the ones you love and/or care about. But from Oliver’s experience and so many others, they don’t need to be monsters to do the most hurt. The best thing we can do for ourselves is forgive so it’s nice to hear this from Oliver. Forgiveness is just that though…it doesn’t mean accepting them or allowing them back. That’s a different choice to make. It’s also important to realize we have all the information needed to make those choices. ❤

Nepo baby needs to learn the definition of trauma..
  • Can't we come out with some NEW term for childhood trauma that doesn't evolve violence? Because this doesn't fall under my definition of trauma! 🤣
  • So she should've not worked at her profession, and stayed single and lonely in the prime of her life? The connections that sustain that man's existence are a result of his mother's work. There wouldn't be a video about him for me to comment on if it wasn't for Goldie Hawn being a Hollywood icon.

What mother IS there all the time. Its nothing new or different from anyone else in the world except it seems as though you acknowledge that she loved you.
  • @DReardon-hq2vb
Good lord, the word "trauma" gets thrown around for just about anything these days.
  • Well, one thing to note: Single and divorced mothers should not date fluidly. If the child doesn't like the new man, heed the warning.

I ALWAYS felt that Goldie Hawn was not right in letting the children “interact” with their real father. I read what their dad wrote and he said she would “make excuses” for the kids not to be with him and he was fighting a losing battle. I feel that Angela Jolie is basically doing the same thing.
