Rust removal with electrolysis

I decided to let science and electricity do the work instead of scrubbing the rust off, soaking it in vinegar or molasses (costs money and stinks), or using a wire disk. I am really pleased with the results. I was concerned that the computer power supply wouldn't have enough oomph to do the job, but it really did well.

The scooter has been a "some day" project since 1999, so it looks like someday is finally approaching.

You can reuse your electrolyte solution as long as you want to just keep adding water. If you let the solution sit for a day all of the brown junk will settle to the bottom and the water will be clear. The real key is keeping the sacrificial anode clean or the efficiency declines as more crud builds up on it. If you could hook up an ammeter in line with the anode you will know when to clean it off or when your electrolysis is finished by watching the amp draw drop.

A American use in the metric system well at least they’re not all measuring in Victorian units I’ve watched a lot of electrolysis videos as a doing little bit myself it’s nice to see how other people do their videos great video one the best i’ve seen. Sean Scunthorpe England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
