State of emergency declared in Clallam County over dangerous dogs

That left police with nowhere nearby to take dogs deemed dangerous.

"There's nothing that close to Port Angeles we could look at and feel that it's a facility we can use at this time," said Clallam County Undersheriff Lorraine Shore. "It is a big concern because these are difficult dogs to deal with."

Shore said in a span of just two days this month they had five dangerous dog calls. Deputies were able to resolve those issues with the owners, but Undersheriff Shore believes they've just been lucky.

Unfortunately, the dogs might end up getting euthanized if there isn't a shelter to take them. It's a sad situation for this community
  • If the animal is known to be dangerous.. this actually clears up why there are so many people, many children getting attacked by dogs and people having dangerous dogs they either can't control or they get out and attack people. What is more important here, public safety, think about the numbers of children at least, getting attacked by dogs or just keeping a dangerous animal in society. Dangerous people end up in prison for public safety.

How many dogs have bitten children? I have seen nothing on the news.

why are you showing video of dogs that aren't dangerous in a story about dangerous dogs? why not show video of the dangerous ones if there are so many of them? none of the dogs in this story are acting aggressive or dangerous, one is wagging his tail as the worker lets him outside from inside the kennel with the dog right next to her...
