My first time entering Heathrow from South Africa, I was stopped by border control and had all my luggage checked and double checked. I had no idea why I aroused suspicion, but my brother (resident of the UK) later told me it was my combat boots which made me look like a terrorist. π

I will never understand why people knowingly buy houses next to airports and then complain about the noise.

It's busiest and slowest with the most nasty staff. They have many more than 10 handbag scanners but always open only few of them with several staff standing around each scanner, all with serious looking, full authority acting, next to scanners.

Ahhh! Nothing like love stories at airports.
