  • The metamorphosis of Norm being an unknown comic to becoming Daves favorite guest and colleague Is beautiful to watch.

The only thing an old man can tell a young man is that it goes fast, real fast, and if you’re not careful it’s too late. Of course, the young man will never understand this truth. -Norm Macdonald

During the snow storm, Dave had Norm on standby in case any guest bailed. What an honor to be Dave’s go-to guy!
  • I like to think he is out there still, unable to make it to us because of the snow storm… I certainly wish he was here. Great memories of understated brilliance leading to surprise laughter; what a talent and gift:)…

You can tell Dave loved Norm immediately

Letterman understands norm and his sense of humor so well and knows exactly how to play off him to make it even funnier such joy seeing this ❤
  • Thank you to David letterman for bringing us such comedy gold as often as possible. RIP Norm, you and Dave were amazing together ❤

Sorry, I just cracked up for 5 minutes because Norm was telling his taking a homeless guy to dinner routine, got sidetracked on to something totally different and then brings it back 360 to finish his homeless guy's story, and Dave simply kills it, and Norm just slides along with it. To leave your ego at the door like that . .. beautiful.

“That’s the whole story” What a great story he was. Thanks Norm
  • @MrBenthie
When Norm Macdonald laughs he seems like a fan just watching and enjoying the show - even though he is a guest. He just loved Dave.

It's very touching watching Dave fall in love with Norm over the course of his many appearances. Also fun to watch the evolution of his name from Norm MacDonald to Norm MAC-Donald.
  • @Kosmo999
Let’s all just acknowledge, GOD DAM HE WAS A HANDSOME MAN
  • @hvymlclm
I love the look that Norm gives when he tells a stupid joke and Dave one-ups him. Such love.

I'm a vet and the cat story cracks me up - 'it's like on ER' and 'he's like a doctor but not a real doctor' 😂 RIP Norm, you were the greatest.

When saying good bye to Norm..."We'll be right back with The Ramones" ....wow, the Golden Age of TV!
  • @stripmin41
You either get Norm or you don't. I believe Norm is a top 5 of all time top 10 at the least, his stories are pure gold.
