  • You are awesome!! I've smoked since I was 16 and most of the time almost all day and everyday. You're right when it makes you only escape temporarily from your own anxiety. Insomnia is the thing that it has always helped most for myself. You realized weed does have negative effects which I appreciate you sharing with your own experience. It damages the lungs no matter how you inhale it and its caused me a bad shortness of breath. My anxiety can be pretty bad also but what's worse is when you can't sleep for such a long time each night and your anxiety only makes you feel worse. Even the breathing exercises help as well as when you exercise. The biggest thing is sticking to not smoking anymore. Super proud of you!!

I quit weed 3 weeks ago. My religion & faith in God got me through the depression. I dont have cravings to get high anymore but I just wish I could SLEEP. I'm getting 3 to 5 hours max per night. It's not healthy & hard to stay focused in the daytime. I drink 1 cup of coffee every morning so I'm gonna quit that too because I think its keeping me up. I miss the days when my alarm clock would actually wake me up...insomnia is the fn worst. This is harder than when I quit Alcohol a year ago.
  • Thank you for posting this!! You described so much of what I feel, every time I quit. I think you are right. There is something about the rush of the acquisition, but also, I have noticed that there is a rush to how and where I am smoking, too. It’s like, seeking the freedom to find a place to smoke in peace, and then actually finding it, almost amps up the high before even smoking... So that tells me that maybe part of why I smoke is that I like the rush of seeking a place to find my peace and freedom. Like you said, addiction is not as much about the substance as it is about the person themselves. We seek a certain feeling, and when we find that feeling through a substance, we become addicted because we keep remembering that feeling that it gave us, for weed, for most of us, it was probably that instant sense of relief. Stay strong!! Thank you so much for posting this.
  • I am so proud of you! Self reflection and innermost soul searching is an honorable and courageous thing to do. There in lies our truth. The raw reality of who we are. Weeding out the negatives empowers us, and propels us towards inner peace. One of my favorite quotes is: “Lord, grant me the strength to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”. You are making huge strides and getting stronger everyday!!!

Shit, Ik I’m real late. But I’ve had the tongue and mouth sore problem my whole life. I ended up almost completley stopping it with avoiding toothpaste with Sodium laureth sulfate
  • I try and turn off my computer and plug in my phone like 30 minutes before I want to go to bed because cutting the light especially blue light tells your brain to go to sleep :)
  • This video was helpful for me. Similar situation and anxiety is really bad after a month
