The odds of finding a stolen car are very low but with the community of VINwiki coming together, the chances go up. Documenting the history of a car and offering clues as to its whereabouts allow the userbase of our free app to collectively search for and recover a car that could otherwise disappear forever.

I refuse to believe the guy taking it apart wasn't aware of what's actually happening.
  • @DOITWITHDAN
This is hilarious! This is the same shop who screwed up my car and took my car on a joy ride without my permission. Pause at 8:05 and fullscreen and you'll see the Car Skins shop logo on the wall. I even made a video about it.
  • Ed the type of guy to agree to chase down this huracan just to tell the story on vinwiki 😂
  • @waunch76
Please note that this was NOT Atlanta Custom Wraps. This was entirely a different company.

This one was close to really getting out of hand. They were clearly looking for another tracking device in the car hidden behind the dash. If they had realized it was just the OBD one, which still hasn't been found, the car would have been long gone.

I wanted to add some context to this one with some pertinent information about how the exotic car rental industry works. If you don't care about that and want to join the theft already in progress, skip to 3:14.
  • @thatzenki
That sounds like a really sketchy wrap shop as well.
  • Last time I was this early, Emile still thought the streets of California were his personal racetrack.
  • Car rental gets themselves in a spaghetti situation and drops the meatballs, luckily Ed Bolian is on the sauce to save their cuisine.

Ed’s such a great guy, like this wasn’t even his problem.

Vinwiki should mimic discovery channel's shark week with rabbit week.
  • @raybobuzz
That place is more than likely a chopshop or part of a theft ring..
  • @sgfreak96
Seems really odd that nobody was held accountable. Why wasn't the person at the shop who authorized the repair questioned? They had to have been knowingly engaging in an illegal act, there's no way they were just "looking for a camera." Also the guy who rented it, hopefully, will have some sort of legal repercussions for his actions. Really a shame, but so glad the car was rescued. Must have been cool to have it in the warehouse for a few days parked up with the other cars!
  • So if I use VinWiki to find say a stolen Veyron, it’s finders keepers right? Is that the policy?
  • @ARFNSX
Great Work Ed. Just so you know, there was something up with that wrap shop. There is no way they got that car at 2am and started pulling out the interior at 2:30. Something rather shady going on...
  • Cop “smells something” shoots him Civilian finds an elaborate exotic car stealing operation and hands it to them on a silver platter nah I don’t think we can help ya
  • I want to go back to school and have Ed be the teacher I know I will pay attention this time he has the perfect way to explain things. The best to you Ed I love your stories
