Want a GT Kush Wide as your front pad??

Published 2023-01-22
What's up Onewheel Fam. I recently swapped out my stock front sensor pad for an aftermarket sensor. By doing that, it gives anyone the ability to use a different front pad on their Onewheel GT. I deviated from the norm of sticking the sensor to the front pad. I have seen a few posts of people sticking it below the pad and I wanted to give it a try as well.

So far I have had no ghosting at all. I have had a few false starts though. I have experimented with using foam tape on the side of the sensor thats more difficult to activate. The foam tape closes the gap between the foot pad and the sensor, which makes it more sensitive and improves engagement.

Here is the link for the Aftermarket V2 sensor from Stokedsock.com:

you should make a follow up video on how it’s going and if it’s worth it also it would look sick with the new 64s colors I want to do this with the purple ones but i want to make sure it’s worth it before i do that with my own money and my only gt❤
  • Kool, thanks for the video. Have tried putting it on the footpad, under grip yet? If so how does that perform?
  • Thanx for this Can we use the V3? I think V2 is discontinued - + do we need to add the 3pin connector to the order ?

How did this end up working out? Because I'm really concerned about the spillage of the sides of the sensor, over the sides of the controller box, where the. Gt Kushpad. Has a molded shelf that will pinch that down?

Does it make more sense to place the sensor on the pad instead? Under the grip tape?
  • It looks like there's a little overhang on the controller box above the connector, wouldn't that be an issue if you ride through some water?

I'm all about DIY but if you aren't I suggest just buying the Platypus footpads from Land-Surf. Very similar to a Kush Wide and the sensor is built into the front footpad, plug and play.
