Wood exhibits its major strength in tension parallel to the grain, and different wood types have different tensile strengths.. Pine is a relatively low tensile strength wood type, while it's not necessarily indicative of it's impact strength or fracture strength it is a soft wood and will no doubt effect the trajectory of your bullets as they pass through as it's more flexible than if you were to use a hardwood like Oak.. There's a reason different wood types were used on warships back in the days of sailing, certain wood types were more (or less) forgiving to cannon ball impacts, lighter wood types would splinter more easily and cause more crew injuries when impacted with a cannon ball and other woods would hold their form and the ball would puncture through them with less breakage of the beam or plank (depending on which part of the ship it was from).. a 12 pounder cannon back in those days was about 121 caliber.. give or take some and naval engagements were ideally fought between 200-300 yards so these woods would take the impacts and depending on the angle would sometimes only dent. Wood is fun, right? lol

11:45 Imagine hearing “bye Bill!” Out in the woods and then a loud shot along with it
  • One of my best friends ( a Texan ) was serving in Nam when he was trapped behind a large stump with a fella trying to reach him with a 12 .7 . He could certainly feel the impact . Three tours by choice , yea Texans can be that way . Third Purple Heart brought him home .😊

  • @johnnyq4908
Thank you for your video friend, the truth I was looking for a video like that, or caliber 50 vs trunk or tree and apparently you are the only one I found, thanks for getting me out of that doubt I thought it was impossible to pierce it with a bullet... you earned a new subscriber.

the 50cal is one of my fav snipers i first used this gun in call of duty and even in cod it can kill someone in 1 shot so it goes to show how powerful it is
  • @karinaTzy
After seeing this I don't want to go in army. No helmet can stop that freaking sniper bullet.
