Me doing a Hot Wheels film

Barbie? Ken? What are you doing in the Land of Hot Wheels?

Well, that quote might be the defining moment of a film I will be directing and starring in, titled Hot Wheels, paying homage to classic films like American Graffiti and Bullitt, as well as some old car songs. On the soundtrack, you will hear songs by the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, The Beatles, Wilson Pickett, Prince, Ministry, Metallica, Luke Combs, etc.

The cast will feature several Academy Award nominees and winners, like Timothee Chalamet, Rami Malek, Mahershala Ali, Dame Helen Mirren, Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and last, but certainly not least…#FLORENCEPUGH!

I will play the part of Robert Wallace, a veteran automobile enthusiast and former drag racer; “Miss Flo” will play the part of April Bridges, my beloved “baby-faced” wife who loves to wear hotpants and roller-skate (she loves roller derby, too!)

I will also co-write and co-produce this film along with Taika Waititi and Noah Baumbach; Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie and Amber Heard (who also plays radio DJ Brooklyn Bridges, April’s older sister) are the executive producers. Mattel will be very proud of this film, just like what it did for Barbie back in the summer of 2023!
