Please allow us to turn off the filters all together. It takes more clicks and time to find things than the older browser, and it clutters the space !

Changing the Plug-Ins folder in that way is just mind boggling. I get the tags thing but I shouldn't have to remember Plug-Ins names to find them until I tag them. Im lost for words.

What did yall do to the Plugins folder? I had them organized wuite well and now they’re just dumped all in one place. Vst2 and vst3’s co-mingling in the same place like they’re labeled differently… 🤷 Please update this soon.

It’s a shame the old default grouping is gone. I don’t want to type in some association tags, I just want to see my plugins already groped by type or manufacturer as it was before. I like version 12, but this filter thing is too specific to force all users to move to that. Why change something which wasn’t broken

So verdict seems to be that the Live 12 browser update took a step backwards. Let’s see if Ableton listens to its customers, I know Image-Line would.

I think the important thing is to customise your VSTs into the User Library; yeah it's a pain but once you have your 'categories' (compressors; delays, creative tools, whatever), it's easy enough to 'add' any new or existing installed plugs into those user-defined category folders. That being said, VSTs by developer is still a must!
  • Tags make sense, but only if you create them yourself, and you really use them. Dumping all sounds into one bucket creates confusion, especially for ppl who had their way of orientating in the browser from previous versions. Same for the plugin. What I don't like the most, is that many sounds, effects, and instruments from my collections are now gone and I have to rebuild them.
  • @ELEKTROGOWK
please auto-categorize the plugins as Bitwig does. The way of searching for plug-ins was better before.
  • @whiskyngeets
The new browser sucks. I don't know how else to put it. Wayyy too slow and clunky. Please give us an option to go back. All we need is more "favorites" colors.

i hate it. bring the old browser back PLEASEEEE
  • @2Naughty
Live 11 browser was perfect for me imo. U shud give us the option to hav it like the Live 11 layout, with the exact same audio effects group folders and group names , nd the option for the new Live 12 layout with all the filters. The only time I wud need all the filter searches is for searching though masses of samples, as it does seem proper useful for that. But I wudnt ever use the browser filters for stock plugins or 3rd party plugins. If u can update Live 12 with that option to group the audio effects in folders like we was able to in Live 11, that wud be sick

Please make it possible to activate and disable the new browser search function with a separate menu , It's so serious that foreigners who don't speak English speak their opinions through a translator🤢 many vst3 that lost the folder got mixed up we need an existing folder classification function
  • Is there a way to get rid of tags you don't use often, or move them lower down? I don't do a lot of Brass/French Horn work in my production.
  • @Typus87
Where are my folders? The update sucks so hard! at least give me the option !
  • @Dripment
i cant drag tracks into the sidebar anymore, i cannot drag samples into new folders in the browser, i cant organize anything anymore. i cannot make my sample packs anymore. workflow has significantly slowed down. please explain the fix
  • @PHILCOLLINSism
Is there an option to leave the filter view folded by default? I like having access to the filters but I hate having to fold it every time I click on something new in the browser.
  • @jamegreen9453
Any news on being able to deactivate this feature?
  • @GuyTallo
Like a lot of people mention. An option to switch back and forth to the simpler (version 11 browser) would be great. Don't change something that was ok. Thanks!
  • @directed6924
Please add colors to tags it will improve this system so much. Also add colors to drum pads in drum rack, much needed.
  • @mastershaff
You really should be able to add more collections than the default 7!
