I found this idyllic mountain hut in the Slovenian alps. I went hiking, foraging mushrooms, fishing and did lots of cooking and eating. It was a beautiful time alone in the mountains.

Not only do baskets look cool for collecting mushrooms, they have a very important function. A mushroom is the fruiting body of fungi, and they have millions of spores in them. Having them in a a basket helps to spread the spores as you walk around and thus having more mushrooms in the area!

Correction: "I Rented a Cool Airbnb in the Alps and made a video about it" Otherwise, cool video.
  • As a SlovenianšŸ‡øšŸ‡® I am very happy that you decided to visit our country. You also have several fans here. I hope you had a wonderful time and visit us again!šŸ˜Š

It's so great to see you being aware and being present. It's a gift to have this ability this young. I am probably not too much older than you, but my path to being present involved more than just being alone. Talking to yourself is not a bad sign. It's also not strange to feel not lonely. When I was traveling alone, there was a point when I felt anywhere is my home. So long as the sky is above my head and the ground is below my head, I have am home. Sorry for the ramblings. I love your videos.
  • I almost expected Heidi and Grandfather to appear in your video. This is literally the depiction of their home in the Alps. One of my fav children's books of all time.
  • That is gorgeous! I am an introvert and a nature freak! I daydream of living in such a place. Wow!

  • I wanted to live in this kind of place so bad. No city noise, no nosy neighbors, just nature.

Oh man, I just sat down with a breakfast I spent 30 minutes making + a large cup of coffee and Alex uploads a 44 minute video!? There's no way! My lucky day.
  • Nice job young man. Your peaceful, perfectly balanced delivery of detail, beautifully captures your story. Thank you for sharing.

I absolutely adore this video! I'm deeply moved by the serene beauty of the Slovenian Alps captured in your adventure. As a 40-year-old living in Pakistan, watching your journey stirs a longing within me to experience the tranquility of living off the grid in a mountain hut. Your connection with nature, from foraging mushrooms to fishing and cooking over an open fire, resonates with my own dream of finding solace and simplicity in the mountains. Your video has inspired me to cherish the idea of migrating to such a serene place one day. Thank you for sharing this breathtaking experience with us!
  • Min 6:00 Did you know you can remove those iron rings depending on the size of the pan/pot you are cooking with? It allows you to cook with direct fire and you remove those rings with a spetial hard wire that has a 90Ā° angle on one end to catch the rings from that centre hole. Great place! Great videos. Congratulations for your new challenge. Greets from Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • Never has an account inspired our weekends as much as yours. By that I don't mean time in the Alps but just getting back to nature and the basics. I spent my 20s and 30s following my football team around the country. Now we spend time in the country. The original fishing account inspired us to pick our rods back up. This account has me walking all over the wilderness! Thank you for what you do. Well done and good luck.

i am honestly so suprised whean people come to slovenia and are so amazed by its beauty beacuse i am used of the views and the all other things and i take things for granted here. Honestly it makes me happy to listen to somebody talking about the country and its beauty it makes me apriciate the country even more. It makes me remeber of the great times i spent up in the moutains walking and helping a speapard make cheese and fire wood and meeting a good friend from america and all of the said its a beutiful country.

The purple flowers you mention in the vid are called "Herbszeitlose" in german - they are showing, that autumn is coming. Absolutely adore this little cottage - this is, what I would love to buy and stay in my retirement, in a close future. The best point of it: That it is so isolated from other people. Concern to the tree/fungus connections: Some say, the roots and the mushrooms in the ground are the internet of the woods. A pro tip from someone, living in the alps: ItĀ“s always a good idea to have a good rain poncho with you ;)
  • I really loved how you collected so many varieties of mushrooms and used them so interestingly for your soups and flavouring. It's incredible to see you have them fresh, dried and powdered. Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful content and your fascinating journey.

Wow, this video is absolutely breathtaking! The scenery is stunning, and the mountain hut is so cozy and rustic. It looks like such a peaceful retreat, and I can only imagine how wonderful it must have been to disconnect and spend some time alone in nature. I love how you foraged for mushrooms, fished, and cooked delicious meals - it's the perfect way to connect with the environment and truly appreciate all that it has to offer. Thanks for sharing this experience, and for providing all the links to follow along with your adventures on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitch. I'm definitely going to check them out!
