Kudos to the trash man out there trying to earn money in freezing cold. He's a real man.

To be put this in perspective, even with arctic expedition gear, -50 is still a challenge for people to remain outdoors

Another example of Canada's poor human rights record
  • This is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Let’s look after our own in 2022. Seniors, homeless and the working poor.

Trailer parks. Trailers mass produced. Lots of crown land
  • The amount of homeless seniors is deplorable. Media always insists on making our homeless out to be all a bunch of drug addicts. You never hear them tell the story of my friend, for instance, who worked hard all her life, paid her taxes, was a great home care worker who when she turned 65 was let go of her job by the Filipino agency that runs the home care. Turfed, jobless and homeless, she had a stroke, had to live in her truck afterward and was homeless for SEVEN YEARS. She never drank, never did drugs, was discriminated against by Filipinos, and needed home care herself but was "Not Qualified" as she had NO HOME. She finally died homeless after her second stroke. And the media would rush to paint her as a drug addict they are so sick and like being bad at investigating homelessness.

Canada please weak up...protect your citizens no matter what and when...When you ask them to join the war they do....when they ask for help at home ..you ignore them. It's a national crime and a shame for rich Country Canada...The USA too...
  • I hope that lawmakers and public policy specialists and economists and other social scientists will work together to solve the homelessness crisis that is unfortunately getting worse in Canada and the US! Drugs and mental health issues are a significant part of this crisis. Failure to address this crisis means that there will be a decline in the overall quality of life for society as a whole. We are already seeing this happen in cities like Seattle, San Francisco and LA. We are already nearing 25 years into the 21st century and we must not re-create the same unsanitary conditions that allowed diseases that afflicted so many during the 19th and early 20th century, to haunt society again. Diseases like small pox, cholera, dysentery, yellow fever, tuberculosis, polio, typhoid fever, malaria,... can return if more and more people live in unsanitary conditions.
  • They should be shifted in school or college building to avoid freezing. Lack of not for profit organizations’s presence in increasing homelessness
  • Vancouver's new Chinese mayor, even though the feds give him $5 billion to solve housing, he plans to revamp Chinatown, a major Fentanyl hub just down the street from its victims who are homeless. Ken Sim sure does know how to look after HIS people.

5 years clean and sober drug use is not a mental disorder is not a disease its a life choice its addicting and you make the choice to let it control your life you are not born a addict .
  • @Whatsahandle4
Also dehydration you need to drink twice as much fluid in cold weather
  • This is among the saddest I have ever seen for the homeless

Our current society means well, but in fact they're just making it worse. Just listen to some of the frontline workers and they will tell you the truth. Quite simply money will not solve all problems!

Do you know what else is dangerous? Doing drugs and drinking everyday
