Kerr wanted to do the jump off. “I have so much respect for what they did in Tokyo. But I always thought that to add to the story and to be able to be given the chance to actually do the jump-off would be so amazing,” Kerr said. “I knew straight away that we were going to make history and we did that.

For anyone who doesn't know, it wasn't just the American. They both wanted to jump.

Hamish Kerr wanted the Jump-Off stating "I have so much respect for what they did in Tokyo. But I always thought that to add to the story and to be able to be given the chance to actually do the jump-off would be so amazing." McEwen did not decline any offer to split
  • Please fix your audio. The announcers say the result before the jump.

I watched it live, it was the kiwi who requested the jump. McEwen said to his coach “ it’s a jump, he wants the jump! “

Nothing wrong with rejecting an offer to tie for the gold. He's there to compete and be the best...alone. Some people do not want to tie, that's the competitive spirit alive and well. And there's nothing wrong with wanting a tie either, Barshim and Tamberi sharing is still one of the best moments in recent years.

One of my favorite sports I ever participated in my life. The jump offs were so exciting. This was beautiful to watch🤘🏾

I'm happy for the jump off. Someone should be crowned the better jumper. They do a tiebreaker in every other sport that they can. Sharing the medal should be if they get injured and can no longer jump or something. If they can still jump, let them compete more to decide.

Amazing effort for Kerr, a small nation of around 5 million in population, simply amazing!
