With the strawberries, it could be both. I grow a couple of white varieties. Mainly for two reasons, one the birds don't know they are ripe, and two the kids don't know they are ripe lol

good day mark... u can blanch sweet potato tops and eat it with shrimp paste+calamondin dip... iron and fibre rich salad of sorts, best eaten with jasmine rice... im filipino australian, i used to have this salad meal to eat... youve inspired me to have a raised garden bed and i now have meals i used to eat at in the philippines as a child...

Did you know that you can use part of a growing cucumber without it spoiling the growing fruit. I've done it, I took about a 4" piece off a growing one, it was more than enough for me. The over then next few hours the remaining cuc on the plant covered the cut with a callus and continued to grow. No wastage and no loss... neat trick eh?

I did exactly that with my beets, picked them early and boiled them for pickling. Then diced up the leaves & doused in olive oil and sea salt & roasted them. Beet top chips, soo good!

Hi Mark. I have a video suggestion: How long does your standard garden tour take. And I mean the boring, everyday check up, no fancy building or repairing. For me it is always hard to gauge what is ‚normal‘ so I would appreciate that. =)

My biggest tip is knowing when too late to harvest is. Whether it's radish, carrot, eggplant, cucumber, squash green beans etc, it's better to harvest small and ensure a good tasting crop. Waiting for it to get bigger only degrades quality. Knowing your varieties and days to harvest helps. Tomatoes and peppers are also easy to overripen on the plant. Tomatoes especially. My tip is harvest when beginning to ripen and finish ripening inside. This will help ensure insects, birds etc, and splitting doesn't ruin it always such a shame! I like the video and to be honest it is more of a challenge to get right than it seems it would be. We live in Texas and the heat can mess up production quick!

There was the biggest bumper crop of Bartlett pears this year at my dad's farm. The trees were hanging heavy and the deer were having a grand feast eating right from the tree. We picked the hard large green pears and the pears ripened brown and full of sugars. What a treat!

I wish my dad still alive, i remember how he loves garden and vegetable farming. I always wondered why he loves what he did, 25 yrs later i got an answer. Peaceful and calming
