  • I always appreciate that Dave will praise players even if they aren't sponsored by Innova.

I wonder if Dave just woke up and decided "Ima drop a knowledge bomb on these kids" and then this video was filmed.
  • @Codychristiano
I kept straining my shoulder and getting inflammation until I watched this video and realized I was throwing completely wrong! I was muscling the disc! Now I throw 50 ft to 100 ft further and injury free! Thanks Dave! You're the man!
  • @heinzketchup14
when did he stop making jurassic park to teach disc golf?
  • Every time I see a video with this man in it, I can't help but feel like I'm hearing from the great and powerful OZ. I wish there was a Dunipace Channel just to listen to his stories and hear all the cool wisdoms he might share. Seeing this pop up on my recommended made my whole day, thank you, sir. Ps, I'mma go out and crack that whip, sir. Respect for the next level graphics, the really help to understand.
  • Dave has been preaching about the physics of the long throw for many years. Fortunately I started listening to him a long time ago!

That is what is meant by reach back. Not literally reaching back, but rotating the shoulders.
  • Seeing someone lay this out in an easy to use and understand graphic makes it so much easier. I will have to watch this a few dozen times to fully comprehend it, but it was a great video.

Seppo Paju throws backhand drive so smooth. Great video Dave!
  • @dustinwconrad
Could use a description or demonstration of the difference between the sling and the wip.
  • Well Dave, you have nailed this topic in so many ways. I listened to your advise 20+ years ago and developed a "riding a bike" style of throw that provides consistent power and accuracy. With today's disc technology, I am throwing (Innova plastic) further every day.

After over thirty years of playing, and more recently studying the pros on you tube, I just wanted a top down view of what they were doing on their drives. Now I see your video and it confirms what I was suspecting. It isn't grip, or reaching back, or proper foot placement, that I wasn't doing correctly. It was the whip! It is why my forehand way out drives my back hand with ease. Time to get out to the course and use this new knowledge. From one old veteran to another, thanks!!!
  • The most helpful video I’ve seen on YouTube. Short sweet and discusses something missed by physics of flight and other tutorials
  • Woah... don't think i've watched a 'how to video' that has made me this excited to do fieldwork asap..
  • @icsb10
This is one of the most informative and enlightening form breakdowns I’ve seen. Great stuff!
  • @jakempeters
Such good advise. It’s helped me so much in my game, and how my body feel afterwards. Wish I would of watched this when I learned to throw, save me three years of poor disc golf.
  • Just started disc golf, so very happy to come across this easy to understand video. Thanks so much!
  • @JuanPablo-ir6lw
That last bit was the most helpful for me. About letting the disc roll off your wrist and aiming down your finger.
  • Wow soo insightful thanks Dave!! I love the body graphics... About every 3 months or when I hit a point where I'm just not getting any better I go back to these kind of videos and just take it in so that I'm more cautious about stuff like this! Thanks!!!
