Future home owner in Stoneridge. Very nice houses 😍
  • UC merced can only get a little bigger due to where its built. there was 20,000 acres donated to the project on the back side of lake yosemite when the project started, however, the sierra club (with pro bono lawyers) dragged merced county and the project managers through court for almost 10 years saying there was a fairy shrimp that lives in the cow urine puddles on la paloma rd (the site of the donated land). so, the new site was approved on the land that used to be the public golf course where the UC is now. it can only build on that land so it cannot grow much from where it is now. i'm sure if they do, the seirra club will be back looking for more fairy shrimp and cost everyone more money. Merced also has a high crime rate. its getting more and more dangerous on the streets of merced. i barely recognize it these days.

Our family and many of our friends, families, and many students at all of the local schools including high schools, a college, and a university are Vegan. Would it be possible for the chefs at the brand new El Capitan Hotel in Merced to serve the exact same mapo tofu, sauté mixed vegetables, and brown rice that is served at the Berkeley Bowl in Berkeley? Warm Vegan entrees, along with the Vegan dishes that are offered in the Whole Foods markets delis would be a real plus for some of us.

  • @nes9262
I'm considering moving to Merced but I came across a list where Merced was at #4 for crime in CA. Any thoughts?

What's the rental market like? I want to rent for a year before I decide to live in Merced
  • What you forgot to add is what merced has to offer as a community the people here are very negative unlike the people who live in the bay area
