When your resume includes design work on the Lamborghini Huracán, Bugatti Chiron and a couple of Koenigseggs, what next?

For Sasha Selipanov, it’s creating his own hypercar: the NILU.

This otherworldly wonder is a carbon-tubbed, V12-powered monster, with little to get in the way of the raw driving experience.

Which could be quite something, given the promise of a manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, and that naturally aspirated 6.5-litre engine screaming out 1070hp at 11,000rpm.

But the remit of the NILU is to offer an unfiltered assault on all your senses, at all times, something Selipanov sums up as the “holy **** factor”. Meaning the exterior and interior design is as full-on as the design of mechanical hardware, with a stripped-back cabin, and an engine bay that clearly took one look at a Lamborghini Revuelto’s exposed V12 and said: “Hold my beer”.

In short, this is one is for the purists, so we sent one of those, Top Gear’s Contributing Editor Jethro Bovingdon, all the way to California, USA, to learn more…

I thought Koenigsegg and Bugatti co-developed something, and I lost my shit!!!!!
  • 1:16 Thre guys in suits and he's sporting a Metallica shirt. I like this guy already. 😂
  • @jayisokay._
hypercars within the past decade have become more and more insanely engineered and i like it
  • @sillimilli3802
This car is fantastic. No turbos, no hybrid assistance, no fancy electronics inside and it's a manual, things that are common in the cheapest cars are becoming a luxury now slowly 😮
  • @Dragonson575
Ah Sasha, you can see him in some of Koenigsegg's launch videos. Not to mention Christian mentioned him when he was talking about putting a V8 in the Gemera.
  • wheels are so simple yet they fit perfectly also with the color

It's inspiring to see new car companies still coming up and keeping the emotional philosophyof the car. From Alfa Romeo to Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Rimac, GMA, Czinger, and now Nilu. I hope this motivates more guys to get out there and make their dreams come true
  • That shot at 14:28, just exposed internals and that pillar down the middle of the rear bumper, absolute magic in design!
  • @Neojhun
Awesome prototype but companies like this have a poor track record. I'll believe it when there is more than a dozen units.
  • @llboodlam
thank god some one who actually lets the designer talk for once and let him finish his thought
  • @wmildner
The concept appears promising on paper, however, considering the current pricing strategy and the absence of homologation, there is a high likelihood of market failure.
  • @TVCHLORD
It looks like a GTA version of a Bugatti + Koenigsegg
  • @kengrand5445
I love how they made the exhaust a design highlight
  • @martinpara.
The Gemera, Chiron, and now this—three of the most stunning modern cars I've ever seen. Each one exudes immense beauty and character, yet maintains a distinct identity. A trio of masterpieces. Truly extraordinary work from an incredible guy.

Ferrari 156 F1 - 330 TRI/LM (Shark nose) Ferrari 330 P4 (Roof and some lines from the arches) Pagani Zonda (Rear exhaust) Lamborghini Countach (Side intake) Aston Martin Valkyrie (6.5 NA V12 and rear) Koenigsegg (interior) The list can go on of the cars I see in this design. I absolutely love it already and it's a love letter to cars. I wish the very best for this project and I hope one day I'll be able to admire it.
