  • So relaxing watching a craftsman at work, having Ginger on the bench with you was a bonus, I had not seen him for a while and was worried he had left home.
  • @ibot6671
Thank God Gingers there to inspect all the work

it would be great to see a video of the regulator being installed and tuned for proper operation! nice work on your part, way more involved than my old woodworking machines that i have redone

I reckon being "in good shape" was really helped by cleaning a hundred years of dried grease and gunk off it too. Looks lovely.

I always find your videos interesting Kieth. This series especially so. I love when Ginger tries to steal the show!

Ball governors are a genius idea, used at one in everything from clocks to telescope equatorial drives (for matching the spinning of the earth so the telescope tracks the stars as the night goes by) to steam engines. And they look so cool, too. Almost like a special effect for an old movie. And Ginger sure is a shop cat, barely raising a hair as you pound away at the work bench she lies on!

Heh; pulls out the punch and gives that rivet a vew pops.. Ginger on the corner of the table slides ever so closer to the edge with each hit. Eventulaly "Huh? wot?" Nice one Kitty!

This may end up being "Ginger's Machine Shop " with Keith Rucker one day. 😊 Very cool to learn how that governor works. Thanks for the video.

I remember scraping babbitt bearings a little when I used to work on compressors back in the day. Properly maintained they would last forever.
  • @MartsGarage
Excellent job, Keith. It looks like quite a sophisticated piece. The high tech of it's day. Very interesting to watch.

Ginger is such a chill cat. He just lays there as if nothing is going on around him. It is nice to him hanging out with ya. Take care and thanks for another good video.

Keith, you solved your latest mechanical puzzle and took your fans along for the ride! I appreciate how much experience and hands on work you're doing. For me it's exciting for the entire process. Hi Ginger. 👋

It's amazing to me how maneuverable the radial arm drill is even though the mass of that arm is huge. This is my favorite machine tool that I really would love to own one day, even though I have absolutely no use for such a huge machine. Love seeing it in the videos!

Thanks Keith for the video as always another good one. Have a great weekend see you Monday.
  • Good morning Keith! Very interesting project. Thanks for the videos.

Genius.. I was wondering how you going to align that piece to run the reamer down.. leaving it a little loose to "find its own centre".. very smart (even though it later didnt work out) I love your videos. You're continuing to look super trim and healthy mate.. well done on that too!
