More than 1,000 US Army Corps Engineers personnel have been activated to help clear the critical shipping channel in Baltimore, where the Francis Scott Key bridge collapsed after being hit by a cargo ship. The ship remains stuck within the Port of Baltimore and debris is blocking the busy channel, affecting thousands of workers. Meanwhile, investigations into the cause of the deadly disaster have revealed that one of the ship's pilots radioed for tugboat help, later reporting a loss of power on the vessel, just minutes before it crashed. More data is being reviewed from the ship's black box. Sally Patterson reports from Baltimore.

The US Coast Guard has reported no sign that any hazardous material has been spilled into the water. The NTSB Chairwoman misspoke when she addressed that subject, yesterday.

Why are so many things suddenly going wrong with Singapore nowadays?
  • The bridges of the modern world should also keep up with better designs and be upgraded with more buffer protection from possible ship collisions for safety.
  • And why the bridge collapse so easily? I watch national discovery, isn't bridge design to collapse only part of the bridge instead of the whole bridge?
  • I wonder if anyone thought to ask the engineroom crew what happened?

It s a poorly designed bridge.

Singapore 🇸🇬 and the owner of the Singaporean-flagged ship will receive possible lawsuits from (tiny list): - 22 workers on the ship, - families of the 6 dead road workers, - people who were struck down to the river but survived, - drivers whose cars were on the bridge at the time, - people who experience trauma for witnessing the bridge collapse, - owners of the containers on the vessel Dali, - owners of dozens of ships stuck on the port and couldn't move out, - thousands of owners of the containers of the ships stuck on the port, - the loss of economy of the port.
