Toronto police asked for help on Tuesday in identifying a person found on a home security video that they are classifying as a suspect in the deaths of billionaire couple Barry and Honey Sherman in 2017.

Det. Sgt. Brandon Price said the person may have a “legitimate explanation” to being in the area and are asking the person to come forward to be excluded from investigation.

Price said the reason an individual was identified as a suspect instead of a person of interest was due to several videos from the area showing the person going into a "very defined area" surrounding the Sherman's home and staying there for a period of time. He said they have been unable to determine a purpose why they were there and it was around the time of when they believe the murders took place.

He also said the reason they took several years to release video footage of a suspect was because the "cost" to the investigation releasing it early on would have outweighed the benefit. He said after taking "exhaustive" steps to identify the suspect, it was now the "prudent time" to release the video in hopes of the public's assistance.

It was four years ago on Dec. 15, 2017, when the couple's real estate agent found them dead in their mansion in Toronto.

Barry Sherman was the founder and CEO of pharmaceutical firm Apotex Inc., a generic drug-maker and the couple were well-known philanthropists and members of Toronto society, sparking intense interest in their deaths and the subsequent investigation.

An autopsy determined the Shermans died of "ligature neck compression." It was also determined they likely died two days before they were found, as neither had communicated with friends or family from that time frame until their bodies were discovered.

Police have said there were no signs of forced entry. As of Tuesday, the deaths remain unsolved.

Big pharma did it.. Sherman knew what was about to be done by their peers. For your info, SARS CoV2 has been proven to have been around since 2016 and possibly before. Sherman knew something about big pharm future actions.

This just must be so horrific for the family knowing what their parents endured in their final moments. So sad.

Wow - 4 years of investigation and we now know the suspect is a short male who doesn’t live in the area. Pathetic. As the sister of a GTA-area police detective, I’m completely underwhelmed TPS. This could have been released 4 years ago. So slack.

"Apotex, Canada’s largest pharmaceutical company was founded by Mr. Sherman. The sole manufacturer of hydroxychloroquine in Canada, Sherman’s company offered to donate 2 million dosages of the medication to the federal government." w o w
  • It’s odd that the Sherman home didn’t have an elaborate video surveillance security system, after all they were billionaires.

Was there a person fitting this description observed on CCTV at Pearson Int'l Airport shortly after the day of the murders?

10 million reasons why it seems well organized & no one is ratting!!??

It’s a joke that after 4 years of investigation they show a video of a man and all they know of him is his appropriate height. “Great achievement”

I feel bad for this cop. His boss threw him out to the lions. The police know who did it, they know the people involved but are fearful of actually laying charges. Instead of being honest, this cop goes out and rants about the 'integrity of the investigation'.

It is an unidentified person walking around the neighborhood possibly around the time of the murder on surveillance video and they don't know age, weight, skin color, nothing. This is apparently a suspect. What a joke.

If billionaires can't get justice then what about all of the low profile murders that are never solved? Little press coverage, no 10 mill reward, no private investigators, nada, nothing. I hope that these murders are solved. RIP Barry and Honey Sherman. Condolenses to your family and friends.
  • If you view the video on other media sites with a closer view of the suspect you can see the guy notice the camera and then turn his head away. I’m guessing this guy was onboard an international flight hours after the murder and vanished into thin air. I hope they checked flight manifests at Toronto-Pearson.

5' 6" and 3/4 to 5' 9" and that walk. Wow. Helpful. Thanks RCMP!

Weren't they the only pharmaceutical company that was making hydroxicloriquin in North America? Hmmm.
  • @BeeBumper
Yeah 4 years later and it is a shadow basically. This is the best they have done
  • Four years later. LOL! They didn't have access to this video shortly after the murder? Right👌

This seems family related - someone close to either did it or hired someone to do it.
