Nice lecture very informative . Only question is : Why with one layer of 15.9 mm Type X GWB on both sides can't be used with 38x89mm wood studs to make a non-load bearing partition wall with FRR of 60 minutes? Per the Table 2.3.4.A the15.9 mm Type X ( 40 min) is allowed to use with 38x89mm wood studs. This table only says (on the foot note 2) Double 12.7mm Type X gypsum Wall board ( which has 80 minute FRR ) applies to non-load bearing Steel framed walls only. Could you please explain/correct this confusion? Thanks Prof.
