This is definitely changing future fiesta events for my fam; last yr we where with kids and everyone in my family out and about near market square enjoying music and a gun was fired . Definitely the scariest thing ever having to panic w my two youngest in a crowd. Then this year is worse; all over social media there was the good but also i saw all the fights and crazies out there. 😢 fiesta is not safe anymore

It's not registered guns involved in these crimes .it's illegally obtained weapons used in these crimes.i see no resolution to this it's a lack of morality issue!

State leaders are responsible for the lack of leadership, accountability, and consequences for abhorrent behavior which isn't addressed at a local level? Heard of a chain of command? Keep reiterating the "safety" of San Antonio, as you surely don't want the tourism tax cut to your salary. PSA: it is NOT safe and don't let the misuse of "kids" sway your judgment.

Fiesta week is OPEN public access, no fencing. City mayor would have to approve big spending for fencing the entire area, policing , exits & entrances, etc. Mayor said purse check & a male is not carrying purse with gun in it. So Fiesta will not be “ safe “ as mayor says. We are not fooled by words. Just Be safe everyone. While enjoying yourselves. 😔🙏✝️❤️

hold up!! this is directly the city's fault- the city gets direct money from beer and soda sales. City gives unbelievable power to the Rey Feos. There is a city ordinance that directs money into a city account. No ones fault or "nonsense" but their own. What family event stays open til midnight?
