#Russia #Mueller #MuellerReport

After months of investigating, Special Council Robert Mueller announced that he had finished his investigation. A few weeks after that, we finally got the “full” report (at least as full as we’re gonna get for quite a while). It’s 480 something pages of very thick, plain prose-- and, consequently, most people haven’t actually read it. They understandably leave it to their favorite political experts to pick out what’s actually important from the mountain of words. However, both the left and the right are viewing this through frames that are already formed; their interpretation was half-decided before Mueller was even finished. So, I decided to give you guys as factual and unbiased a report of what’s inside the dang thing as I could. First I talk about what the report says about Russian interference in the 2016, allegations of collusion, and allegations of obstruction of justice. Then I go ahead and give you guys my opinion. Facts first, opinions after. So although I definitely have my biases, I hope that it’ll give you guys an opportunity to decide for yourselves before purchasing into whatever ideological frame best fits what you normally see.

Also, this is the longest video I’ve ever made for YouTube-- sides the one I did forever ago which was just a recording of me giving a lecture post 2016. All I hope is that I did the topic justice.

Less-than-three,
Peter

  • Dude! After not even 5 minutes in: I've seen more work, attention to detail, comprehensive presentation and honesty of views on the matter of the Mueller report than I have heard from MSM in its entirety. THIS is why I love your channel and why I love the Internet. Respect! 👏👏👏

Thanks for attempting to be so fair and transparent. I know that takes much more work than just plopping out a hot take.

Mueller Team: We are going to flip a coin and we can only tell you if it lands on tails - we cannot tell you if it lands on heads. ... it didn't land on tails. US People: Did it land on heads? Mueller Team: We are unable to answer that question. It didn't land on tails though. US People: ... Trump: It didn't land on heads!

Great video, I appreciate you going through the whole document and citing your page sources.

I think people are willing to watch longer videos (much longer than this even) when the content is as engaging and thorough as this. Also, I believe the algorithm favors longer videos, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Then again, I'm sure this was already a great undertaking for a busy person like yourself. Anyway, great video! I hope it gets the views and recognition it deserves.

There's this character in Hoodwinked called Twitchy.....so you. But great content and surprisingly understandable considering the speed at which you deliver. As an outsider, your explanations of yank politics are very useful.

Thanks for making this video I tried reading it my self but it didn't make sense. I'll probably try again but this video was helpful

We need to get someone with a great voice to read the report and release the audiobook version of it Edit: Obama should do the voice just to really twist the knife >:) Edit 2: Not to say you don't have a good voice, there are just some people with amazing ones. This was a great video thank you for your time.

Hey, I love your stuff. I’m taking the AP US GOV and Politics Exam on the Sixth of May. So much of the test this year is foundational documents and Supreme Court cases. Could you do a video on the history of Supreme Court cases?
  • Thanks, Peter! Yeah, I'm not surprised by any of what you described... which is more than I've heard anyone else describe from the report. In general I have to say I think impeachment proceedings should start not because I think it will necessarily remove him from office, but merely to preserve the idea that actions have consequences and that our legal system actually works and we don't just let people become totalitarian dictators because they want to. An important part of this equation also being as you pointed out (and as I've been thinking / saying since the report was released), ignorance of the law is not a get out of jail free card. I can't go rob a bank and say "oh, well I didn't know robbery was illegal, so there!" And the same should apply to the President, regardless of how distracting his legal proceedings might be. Not that it matters in this case anyway, since he spends 60% of his day in unstructured "executive time", because running the country is the last thing in the world he wants to do.

Really the most asinine/ worrying response to the report was how people on fox news and the cuznuzzler said "it wasn't illegal therefore it's perfectly okay and we have no right to be angry about it it's just politics." I mean part of living in a civilized society is adhering to standards regardless of weather or not they are enshrined in law- we should have a right not to have waste time to legislate certain things because somebody refuses to follow society's standards unless there is explicit punishment for doing it.
