Activist Bree Newsome takes down Confederate Flag at South Carolina Statehouse

A courageous act by a true patriot! Thank you for your service to freedom, Bree!

I'm not christian but amen girl! It is about time someone took down that old raggedy symbol of violence.

Whether you like this act of courage or not these are the type of people who made America strong.

God bless her, she did what she had to do. The ironic thing is a white guy helped her get the flag down and 2 black cops arrested her. I wish black men would stand tf up.

The preservation of slavery is stated in the confederate constitution.

But since i know my history i dont dwell with strong believers who doesnt have an open mind. But i do applaud u and love everything u stand for even standing for your christ Jesus.. And for the record, christianity came from africa then the romans took it for themselves and called it christianity.. It was our africans way to live a good prosperous long life. Putting up a confederate flag and claiming it's just about heritage is like throwing up a Nazi flag and claiming you just have German pride

Next time do it without mentioning Jesus or God.  No need to alienate anyone who also supports removing it.

She has every right to take it down! That flag claims her as property, she is a human being! Black lives matter, and that flag is forever gone! I'm not even black and this news warms my heart!

I know this might offend many people in the comment section , but it is exactly what i believe : Cake is far better than pie , cakes in general are much more appeasing , sweet , and smoother . Cake takes longer to go bad than pie , you can store cake mix for far longer than normally . But that's just my opinion , feel free to like pie also if you please .

This is an issue of South Carolina and only South Carolina, that flag is government speach is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, even if I dont like it. You just cant take that flag down because of what it represents, nor punish those who waive it with pride. For the record, that flag was never an official CSA flag, the Stars and Bars, Stainless Banner, and blood Stained Banner were.

Uh the Confederate flag isn't racist, it's only racist because people make. It racist.. And doesn't God and the Bible say savlory is OK? And I'm. Pretty sure it was the American flag that was up for when they brought the slaves over . Just because someone says it's a racist flag doesn't mean it is
