Counselor Carl (serenityonlinetherapy.com/) explains how reparenting the inner child means learning to love, nurture, and protect the part of the brain that carries unhealed childhood pain - the Wounded Child. He points out that many clients reject an
d condemn their Wounded Child even though what their Wounded Child needs the most is love and support from their Adult brain. He also explains the difference between the Adult and Wounded Child parts of the brain, and what the Adult must do to reparent the Wounded Child. Counselor Carl's straight-forward teaching style makes complex concepts easy to understand. Counselor Carl is a licensed, professional counselor with 19 years of clinical experience both online and face-to-face.

My chest is heaving and I'm fighting back tears. No one before ever told me that it is okay to admit the hurt inside. Thank you Dr. Carl.
  • I feel the inner child is the dependent part of us carrying around all the thoughts and feeling that we base on how we were treated. I know what I feel, how to feel healthy is unknown to me yet.
