I'm glad that Nick said the #1 thing that black men desire..even over love is respect. The problem with this is (some, not all) their definition of respect. I know several men that feel this way, but their DEFINITION or VERSION of respect was/is distorted & is rooted in toxic masculinity. They believe women speaking up for themselves while respectfully disagreeing with them or doing anything seemingly "offensive" or challenging is disrespectful. In their minds, if they can't control her, it's a form of disrespect...when in essence, their insecurities are being confronted, therefore they feel emasculated & the only way to avoid facing their feelings of inadequacy is to deflect or shut the woman down by any means necessary...from fleeing to verbal or even physical abuse.
  • He seemed uncomfortable. Talking over her and interrupting her. She was expertly breaking down many behaviors and subconscious needs. Masterfully spoken. I’m going to look for videos of her speaking. I would love to hear her speak unobstructed.

She's got a good point....when you are controlled within yourself you don't need to control others💯
  • Nick let her be “big cuz” on this one bruh 😂 she gotchu mentally. She’s a psychologist! Seems very conscious, and aware!

Nick didn’t push back on ANY of the other professional doctors like he did her. Questioning her at every juncture. He is definitely overcompensating!
  • You tell her to stop using the word control, just for you say “I am a control freak”. 😭😭😭 Nick, she is holding you accountable with so much love!

a whole word!!!! I may not be a fan of the decisions he makes (but not my life not my business) but creating this platform as a black man is admirable!
  • The topic of black women being the most disrespected was a general question, i dont understand why she made it personal. Its like asking someone does racism exist, the person responds and say i have never experienced racism...just because you've never been disrespected doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I would like her to share the sources where she got those statistics.

I wasn’t expecting to love this interview. I’m now a fan of Dr. Cheyenne Bryant. Our pedigree isn’t the same but similar to her, I don’t have the experience of being the most disrespected, undervalued, unwanted, etc. within society but when those emotions arise it’s usually from our community. My hope is that we learn to properly value each other.

Nick it’s not blaming! It’s literally a correlation!!!! He is so stuck on stereotypes and his way of thinking as truth.
  • I’m not sure why this video doesn’t have over millions of views. She is amazing!!!
  • @jamaicanboy2010
She 100 on the Nick read! It’s wonderful . We can’t grow if we don’t know our issues!
  • @Akhase_Org
Them last few minutes she spoke on control 🔥🔥🔥🔥
  • Can she be my therapist. ... This episode was powerful & kudos to Nick for being vulnerable enough to be used as the "teachable moment" to help heal whoever is watching... & again, this episode was powerful...

Im trying to find that statistic Doc where black women are underneath white men when come to societal respect. I'm not to sure about this statistic, it should be easier to find. I need that statistic a.s.a.p. lol
