How to start a presentation is just as important as the ending of one. The opening or beginning of your speech often determines how long the audience will “tune in” to your presentation. If you bore your audience right from the start, you already lost them. You need a strong intro or a strong opening line to grab the attention from the very beginning.

A simple and to the point. An attention grabber is a cornerstone in your presentation success. One of my very best presentations was in a general public political meeting where I started about a story of a football match that ended an hour before my presentation and I linked it to the topic of my presentation. It was very successful, although the slides were prepared in a very short notice and was not to my standard quality. I got lot of greetings from all audience including the keynote speaker.
  • I have my first ever presentation today! I was a bit curious to know about how to start it and I'm glad I had a look at this video :)

  • Short and simple. Happy to know what type of tools you use for your presentation. I just started with Animaker Deck, happy to learn more tools like that.

I told a prospective customer this, brainstormed from the video: I'm so happy that Amy Gerety brought up introductions. Introductions are important, it begins the story about who is involved and why we are all here. I like the story idea and the why! Another sales tool I can use, thanks.
  • Powerful message, next you prepare a presentation, focus on why you are doing speech
