Only a person with the blues can play the blues like that.
  • Stevie Ray was the virtuoso, but big brother Jimmie is the journeyman blues player!

It’s a treat to see an artist play their old guitars every now and then. Jimmie has had that strat since the 70’s at least.
  • First name guitar player I saw in the mid sixties, with the Chessman, then he became immersed in the blues. Genuine icon.

I met Jimmy Vaughn back in 1998 in Charlotte North Carolina I got to shake his hand I told him I was a musician I'm a drummer he shook my hand and said keep on playing son they had a giant telecaster and a giant Stratocaster had giant pics and he signed my giant pic really nice down to earth Guy
  • Jimmy’s the real deal. Listen to other versions of this: he’s right in the pocket every time; where only a blues man of his authenticity could be.

If that was in a studio that would be absolutely insane

The respect I have for Jimmie and his much missed brother is immeasurable. God bless the Vaughan brothers!

I found Jimmy and The Fabulous Thunderbird in 1981 before I ever heard of Stevie. Got a chance to meet Jimmy at the Fender Visitor Center in 2010ish when he came by to do a private show for the employees. Such a salt of the earth guy. Hope he lives and continues to play until he's 100 years old.
