She acknowledges on Letterman’s Netflix show that she felt undeserving at the time and she felt it was basically a political reward, but Lorne told her to take it while her parents were alive. It would make more sense if she got it now after finishing up 30 Rock and creating a dozen other shows and movies, along with her monster hit book and musical.

Love seeing Tina Fey win earn this award — she’s a champion of women in comedy, always uplifting other people. She wrote beautiful things about her parents in her book.
-
Meanwhile, in 2022, her writing and acting for Mean Girls is #2 most watched on Netflix 18 years later. Tina was an icon before she knew it herself.

I’m still crying from Tina’s “….because I’m a stone cold b!tch”. 😂🤣😂

Everyone talking about chappelle needs to realize that he was gone at this time. He was MIA and put his career on hold. Not quite the right time for an award nomination lol
