watching john mulaney do the cha cha slide with that neutral expression on his face is my will to live
-
The sound of all their steps in unison is really, really satisfying.
-
The greatest thing about this skit is that John's character is 100% white. He doesn't try to sound black. He doesn't attempt to use street slang. But at the same time, he has a deep knowledge and respect for black culture. And this respect allows him to comfortably engage black people as PEOPLE while being the white man that he is. Damn I wish real life was like this!

Am I the only one high key rooting for this imaginary couple?
-
The background actors were really selling it!!
-
John Mulaney does look like a software engineer from Indianapolis
-
I love that Keenan is lowkey covering Cha Cha like a boss and everyone just talking bout the skit.
-
When you try to bring your boyfriend to the cook out and find out he's the host šš
-
Johns face is priceless the whole skit. Like he has done this dance 12 times this month and is just bored
-
John Mulaney's character here would probably kill it in black jeopardy
-
Aunt Georgette getting stuck on BeyoncĆ© 1 still slays me to this day!! šš

One of the greatest ever SNL sketches. Really brilliant. Flipped the āfish out of waterā comedy tradition and turned it completely on its head, and found the humor in the character being a fish completely in water. Donāt think Iāve ever seen that done so well in comedy. Itās also one the handful of great SNL skits that promote pure racial harmony. Love it.

This is just a sketch but I feel like John Mulaney low-key has this type of energy
-
John dancing with the most blank stare is literally everything I am.
-
I am so impressed with every background actor in this scene. They make this whole sketch so much better.

For anyone who doesn't understand why it was so important for SNL to add black female cast members (after not having one for almost 10 years) or black writers on the writing staff, this sketch is a perfect example as to why is benefits the show. SNL did a lot of great work with an almost all white cast and entirely white writing team, but having diversity gives them the opportunity to add great skits and characters to their repertoire.

The real star is that heavy set man in the background giving his best performance.
-
Thatās a good boyfriend who keeps a back up fan so his girlfriend doesnāt get embarrassed
-
The best part of this skit is, he wasnāt nervous about being the only white person there, and she wasnāt concerned about him āfitting inā in a āblackā sense. Itās more, āI donāt really know your familyā nervousness. The āraceā angle , though thereā¦ isnāt. Love this skit.

I died at the āchurch fansā and the nonchalant way in which John just pulled his out, clearly expecting to be using it in a dance routine.
