Published 2018-07-30
In this video Greg Mahoney of Building Code Education performs an HVAC change-out inspection. This video covers key items to review while doing an HVAC inspection, specifically a residential split HVAC system. Visit our website at the link below for a downable inspection “guide” that goes over the items covered in this video.

We are providing this series of inspection videos because we know that it can be difficult to go on ride-alongs with building inspectors. Contact us or comment below if you have any questions or comments about this video. Thanks for watching!

    Convenience outlet for outside condenser?
  • Was that furnace a condensing furnace? If so, the pan needs to be larger than what was in this video - the pan has to be under all components that can have condensation, not just the cooling coil.

the system is not missing a sediment trap, it was installed inside the cabinet. You can so the cap exiting the bottom of the furnace.
