This is so much better than 99.9% of Pokémon investment videos. Solid advice for sure!

Wise words. Lessons I'm sure the majority of us wish we would have known when we started. I bought everything when I first started and slowly figured out that booster boxes, certain exclusive products, and products with unique promos are the way to go.
  • This problem should realistically solve itself, people buying less product = retailers ordering less product = manufacturers making less product.

Just recently discovered your channel. Love your background display. I'm new to Pokemon and investing so I appreciate you and the info you provide.
  • Great video! I'm debating these black friday deals but only for gifts for kids and for opening for fun. It's tempting to think of them as holds but they're on sale, and available, for a reason!

love your work my friend, straight to the point & useful infomation for those who dont know or are new to the hobby. it would be great to have a conversation with you irl. keep up the videos G, from one sealed aussie pokemon collector to another.

Great video, good to be brought back to earth sometimes and reevaluate where my money is going. Also I agree about the holos. Them and the reverse holos just have no wow factor anymore, maybe I’m old school but I’d love for holos to somehow be hit cards again. Soon I’ll be starting a side collection and going back through all the sets collecting the holos

Thank you for the great advice! Underrated channel. I hope your channel grows exponentially

Love the content mate! Definitely can relate to this video. I started collecting/investing sometime last year, and I’m just starting to make this mental shift to buying better products. I bought whatever looked niche and unique thinking that they were one of a kind and will go up in price. I was wrong…now some of the questions I ask myself when buying a product is 1. Is this for my Pokémon side hustle or is it for me? 2. Is this for an investment piece, display piece, or flipping? I stopped buying collection boxes because like you said, I’m parking my money and there’s better opportunity cost elsewhere. So far my focus has been Pokémon center etbs and BBS for investments. Once again, love the content!

Great video Ozzy! This one had some great content that is very helpful, love your work and keep it up!
  • @PixelKatana
Great video! When you called Annihilape Infernape I had a good laugh.

The downfall of ETBs made me so sad. Seeing Darkness and Vivid get annihilated was the beginning of the end. They actually outperformed BBs for a very long time, and now they're worthless.
  • @NigelStroopwafel
First video I’ve watched. As a new sealed collector I agree with everything you’ve said. I’ve been collecting every Pokemon Center ETB and a full sleeved booster pack art set for each set and that’s it. (With the addition of an evolving skies booster box).
  • @hayzeeshark88
Booster boxes, blisters and 'holiday' sets as they say are king. Glad that I don't invest in either of your points. Good for assurance 👌
  • Great points, next year I plan to spend smarter on Pokemon TCG products. What gets me is the etb drops first before any product and I get FOMO lol thanks for the vid! Really smart.
  • @sknblue77
Love the content and appreciate the education you provide for the community. Just picked up The Japanese Classic Collection and plan to keep sealed. I really enjoy diversifying in collecting/investing and wonder if you plan on investing in more Japanese products in the future.
  • @neb542
Etbs are fine. Dont fall into the timmy trap. Be aware of the tcg product lifecycle and pokemon rotation to understand when to buy and when stock is high. It will always be the ONLY substitute for the booster box.
  • @shardcards6474
I totally feel like you took some inspiration in my comment about investing to modern in your previous vid :) awesome! Btw tip about not buying singles at launch is nobrainer. At least i thought that every serious collector has this as an absolute must. But still it doesn't anyhow mean to make profit, i bought multiple cards like Shining Fates Vmax Zard and Champions path V Zard at a price which felt like equilibrium and still lost about 30-40% on both of those. So not buying after launch doesn't always mean making profit, but definitely always means minimizing initial losses a lot.
  • @JobozTelevision
When the thumbnail show a white tshirt and in the video you ahve a black polo. :p good video as always. i dunno why you would collect alot of ETBs instead of just boosterboxes unless its a crazy promo card inside
  • @tredici72
Great video Michael👍 90% of my collection is sealed booster boxes, but lately I’ve been keen on grabbing some raw Japanese 151 masterball cards, they’ve dropped a little in price and I’ve been buying a few nice ones …I rarely buy single cards to invest in, but I feel these masterball cards might be very sought after in years to come.
